Having been a cook in actual restaurant style places, I can explain rather easily.. it's not that they bake it in the "height"....
it's pretty much the cake pans ( probably like 4 of them of decent size) are baked and then cooled, possibly even chilled a bit to make them firm up nicely.. and then cut up into shapes that, when assembled like building blocks, make for the tall masterpiece.. It's just that simple..

oh I won't deny that it takes a lot of prep.. the initial part of just making the cake pans is simple enough.. but you have to have the plans ahead of time, as well as knowing what and how you're going to decorate it and so on.. and you have to use thin plastic supports and such so that it doesn't collapse from supporting it's own weight.. that's MAINLY why the top portions get smaller.. so it WONT fall in on itself..

Vera and I would definitely get along. Neither of us are "normal" by any means (I fucking hate that word with a passion, people close to me will understand why), we both have unique talents at what we do, and from what I understand, she sees that things get done without being condescending.
