The Side Switch Special: Carcano Moschetto Modello 91/28
Just picked this up from the FFL today, though ordered it 3 weeks ago (shipping and all that). Wasn't in any rush to receive it, but the ammo and clips arrived plenty before. At only 3ft long with an 18 inch barrel, it's relatively light and compact compared to the fantasy-land, overkill polearms that constituted as rifles back then 😛
Sitting on the ever-so-useful wooden table, and chambered for 6.5 unobtanium with brand, spankin' new clips. Few dings in the wood, slightly bent cleaning rod (but still works), and no sling (wouldn't expect it to last that long), but functionally sound for being 80-odd years old. Going to be cleaning it and taking it to the range hopefully on the weekend; interested to see how it shoots considering the bolt doesn't smack into my face while cycling it and aiming.
Pasta references intensify...feel free to comment and such
Updated submission info to remove the redundant submission with the bayonet.
