Isn't it great, right ? And yeah, i'm actually surprised that there aren't more niche metal bands doing something with it or what have you given that it feels like there is a metal genre for every type of instrument :')

Nigel Eaton, Matthias Loibner, and Patty Gurdy are also notable HG musicians, although the first two are much more traditional. Pagan/medieval/folk-type groups like Corvus Corax, Faun, Garmarna, L'ham de Foc, etc. often feature HG as well <3

There's a Swiss folk metal band called Eluveitie that uses the hurdy-gurdy in many of their songs.

Oh yes it is. and yeah, Im partial to more folk music with it like the band FAUN but ive seen some folk metal bands with it. it does add an interesting tone to the music.

Late to the party here, but I absolutely love the Hurdy Gurdy. Such a beautiful sounding instrument.

It really is, pretty versatile too which is fun!

Can do classic, celtic, and even make pretty good EDM style music.
