So my boyfriend,
zoomsuper finally got me into his favorite childhood game series, Fossil Fighters, recently. He got me the first two games for my birthday and I was happily playing them when I came across this adorable little Vivisaur called Nasaur, based on the Leaellynasaura. I spent literally 8 trips into the Rivet Ravine just looking for the Legs before finally finding them, and of course I immediately put her on my team!
Anyway, Nasaur is probably my favorite Vivisaur so far, at least from an aesthetic point of view. It's very cute, and the design stands out from many of the other Vivisaurs in the first Fossil Fighters.
I tried experimenting with the lighting on this one, since I've struggled for a while now to highlight scales. From this, I've finally found a method that works for me: in the past, I had always colored scales in clusters of light; however, on an organic form, it looks a lot better to scatter the highlights. I basically drew quick little blobs here and there approximately where the light should hit. Sometimes the blob clusters are more concentrated, other times they're spread out and sparse. Regardless, I'm proud of how this turned out!
Question for all of you: If you've ever played Fossil Fighters, what's your favorite Vivisaur? Why? If you haven't, then what's your favorite prehistoric animal and why? (Mine is the Anomalocaris)
