While they might appear an idyllically ordered countryside of farms at a glance, the Verle Riverlands of the Hessony Province are some of the wildest and most haunted territories of Hessony. Here the Gulewud is at its most untamed, and Hessony's border meets the Ashlight sea, a meager barrier that provides little defense against the fury raiders that routinely sail out from Rothrogga. Cursed things shambling in from wretched Vadheis to the west, the unseemly beasts of the Gulewud to the east, and the savage furies to the north make the riverlands a harried expanse.
