Finally, some personal art! Atlas moths were some of my favorite bugs ever when I was a kid, along with tarantulas and stick bugs! They're some of the biggest moths in the world, and the tips of their wings are designed to look like venemous snakes at first glance to scare off predators. Because an atlas moth's proboscis is so underdeveloped as to be completely useless, along with their gargantuan size, they unfortunately don't live very long- about two weeks at most. In fact, they don't eat at all for the entirety of their adult lives, survivng only on the nutrients they managed to consume as caterpillars. Said caterpillars are voracious eaters, and have to be housed seperately from other insects at the Museum of Natural History in New York to ensure they don't eat every plant in sight!
