Mass Effect 2 shipped with an utterly ridiculous DRM-protected disk. Most of the time, my drive wont read it, it seems to have trouble with the lead-in which seems to have wierd holographic-looking squares on it. Nine times out of ten, the drive will just keep spinning up for a while until it gives up. Now and then, it will read the disk instantly as if nothing was wrong.

I found no support for this issue because most people can't even read the disk at all, it seems. This is just another example of the fact that if you pay, you get fucked, if you pirate, you get it all easy. The disk is just there for validation, too. The fucker still took up 10gb of disk space.

This is really irritating because yesterday, it just would not read. For three hours I kept trying. As if it knew I was just hours from finishing the game and wanted to deny me. Then, since I was already having a shit time of things (there's stuff going on I haven't mentioned lately) when something else happened, I just gave up.
