The story: Standing watching the cars from the American Le Mans Series heading back to their pits, I was in the middle of photographing one of the BMW M3 GT2's when suddenly I hear "He's turning!!!"
I move away from the viewfinder to find a Porsche Spyder bearing down on me. I shag ass and bolted behind a safety truck only to have it pull around and within 5 feet of me. I looked back to one of the safety crew members asking if I was blocking their way. A shake of the head and I turned back to see him removing his steering wheel.
I snapped a few photos and after he was out and helmet removed I tapped him on the back. He turned to me and I quipped, "You should've parked closer."
He smiled.
