So, like...just an observation I've made on FA, here. I dunno if there'd be any statistical significance.
Regardless of the popularity of the artist, assuming that there are no flame wars in the comments of an image, the ratio of comments to favorites is directly proportional, generally, to the quality of the art. At 2:1 or 3:1, an image is strikingly good or really inventive or both. Artists still learning will tend to garner lots of commentary but not many favorites (tends to be about 1:1), and less serious art (i.e., "this was a neat idea I had while I was drunk last night!") tends to get more reactions that people are moved to express in words (so it runs between 1:2 if it's crap to 2:1 if it's good).
This is almost 20:1, and I'd say it doesn't break the trend. ;}
