(this was too big for a sketch comp, despite being super sketchy)

So, Veri is a horrible eldritch tentacle monster. However, Veri dislikes getting screamed at constantly by disturbed passersby, and also prefers to 'hide' such that others have a hard time figuring out that they should prioritize magic when attacking him. So, he... wears a taxidermy skin like a very spooky slightly death-scented fursuit. (His setting doesn't have synthetic fur yet, although even if it did Veri would probably prefer the real thing since he's trying to masquerade as a Real Creature, and can't risk others asking him to take off his disguise) Thankfully Veri usually scavenges for his future clothing? (killing something so he can wear its skin would kind of go against his whole 'I prefer not to murder' shtick) Although if he's truly desperate he might tolerate purchasing a hunted hide from someone else (killing the creature himself would jsut cause him even more feelings of guilt).

The type of creature's whose skin Veri wears is not a true spacebugkitty (P. ortabastris), but rather a different non-sapient unguisolleniform animal. (I don't think actual ortabastris will feature in Veri's setting, since it's not set in Council Space? but I might still use the unguisollens order since they're such handy fauna to include.)
