It's part of having a character, being able to think for someone different from yourself.

Which, oddly enough, is why and how the character has such depth. I mean, writing close to the vest is easy. Writing well from a perspective that couldn't possibly be further from yours? Much harder.

I wasn't trying to insinuate that at all! Mostly I'm just amused at the idea of you theoretically sitting around and saying "I can insult them? To their faces? And get paid?" The distinction between character and author is not lost on me, being as I also finagle multiple characters... which is why it was clear to me that I was joking! Apparently the furry fandom at large has not yet learned to arbitrarily read my mind and derive what I actually mean to say.
