Ghost Story: Game Time! Flyers pt 3
“Easy there, fella,” Blur said, half crashing, half catching the fox who was sent bowling into her, as he got his bearings back.
“Sorry..” he told her, before getting back into the swing of things, the two surging back forwards, before the remainder of the crowd could catch up.
So, on they surged, the four jockeying for position, while the remainder of the racers looked like they didn’t have a chance of catching up. One lap had passed, and it would seem that Wave allowed Tsunami’s passage into the pole position, but one could only guess for how long. A second lap passed, and Tails and Blur where right on Wave’s tracks, much to the swallow’s irritation. Third lap ahoy, and the two stragglers attempted to make their move. Tails came up on Wave’s left, while Blur on her right, and proceeded on boosting by her.
“’Scuse me.. pardon me.. don’t mind me, I’m just taking the lead,” Blur sneered as she passed by.. or so she thought. Wave was quick to elbow Tails in the ribs to send him reeling back, while she grabbed the hedgehog’s arm, and held her next to her.
“I don’t think so, loser,” she told her, as she glared. Then in one swift motion, she swung her foot forward, and stomped on the front of her board, while letting go of her arm, the nose of it catching in the dirt, and sending it catapulting forwards, giving the hedgehog enough time to think “Crap…” before she was launched into the air, her board following her. Just before the bend in the track before the tunnel, she went flying off track, landing in three points, hitting on her shoulder, tumbling, her back, tumbling, and landing face first into the dirt, her board sliding into her afterwards. And all that could be heard, was the voice of that sparrow laughing, fading into the distance as she rounds the bend and goes through the tunnel. Brittney sat up, holding her injured shoulder as she looks into the tunnel they disappeared into, followed by the remainder of the pack, and narrowed her eyes.
“That bitch…”
