But no macaws. I'm surprised someone like you owns birds when you made that wrong comment about the fluffing up pose.
Cobras put up their hoods when ready to attack, or a rattlesnake shaking tip of his tail. But macaws fluffup when about to clean off their feathers or they are excited. My honey bee loves attention a lot so he goes into "poofy bird" mode sometimes and blushes. Guess it's not so common knowledge either way.

I was assuming that it was a universal gesture as our birds tend to fluff when annoyed or ready to bite. I knew another lady who had a bird (forgot what it was) who also fluffed his head feathers when i approached, and in his agitation bit his owner.
Yes I don't own a macaw. But I was assuming again, that fluffed head feathers was a warning sign. Just please don't assume I know nothing of birds, I'm going by what I observe. :/ I also have the scars on my hands to prove it.

Scars prove nothing but you got scared one time of big birds. I have a mother in law who owns a clinic and my husband who had Honey Bee for years. It's obviously not a warning sign. Yes I can assume these things cause people make mistakes just means they know so little of animals. I think you should know more about birds body language before doing anything with the pets in your house. Body language is important between the owner and pet.
Well I would never want to have or be around a macaw since to me they're unpredictable. One bit open my dad's lower lip. And I just don't like the tone you're using with me, it's making me uncomfortable and not helping my despairing mood today. So I'm dropping this, please don't keep on. ><;;; Making me feel like I'm being yelled at like a parent to a child, thanks. T_T
Yea, most common name for these is the "Macaw", this one is a Scarlet and yea they originate from places like brazil, mexico, south america ect. Similar to this one is the green wing and the blue one you speak of is the Hyacinth. theres also the blue and gold, mini macaws list goes on XD
And thanks :)
