This was originally uploaded to DeviantART on May 6, 2020 and was updated on May 17, 2020: Originally when I showed Mac off to others, and conceptualized him, he wore blue. I was not sure about doing that with Mac just before I uploaded him since Junior and Rainbow already wear blue themselves as a base, so I switched Mac's primary color scheme to green so he would be using another color as a base. However, as time went on, I just didn't like the green on him as I thought I would. I instead stuck to keeping their shades of blue all different, and switched Mac back to blue in the end, making green an alternate outfit as it originally was.
A character from a species I've been trying to draw for years now has finally come!
Yes, and it's the weirdest thing, a Koopa Troopa is a character I've been trying to draw for the longest time? It's interesting how and why, the body types and especially the heads of a Yoshi and Koopa are almost the same. They both have round cheeks, their eyes are almost the same shape, their noses are big and bulbous, why did it take so long? I honestly feel like the reason was just trying to get the right shape for the nose, and angle it right. It threw me off more times than you think, but after enough tries, I got it! Despite the fact that I could finally draw a Koopa, this wasn't my best coloring job. I did this late in the evening when I needed to be in bed early for a morning work shift, so I cut some corners like copying/flipping/pasting/rotating the shoe from the left side to the right, which means you can see that the pixels are a little uneven as a result of all that. I tried to clean it up but it means this piece suffers as a result.
Similar to some of my other characters that I finally got to draw recently, this one has been waiting in line since November 29, 2015 when he was first introduced in an RP for a Thanksgiving event with friends. I had originally created him with the help of SDragon01 (https://www.deviantart.com/sdragon01) and Ryex-617/ShadedBlue89 (https://www.furaffinity.net/user/shadedblue89/), when I was working on something else for my characters (that hasn't seen its full potential yet) but of all the ones I created for that project, this was the one that stuck the best.
This is Macintosh Appleseed, although many will just call him Mac. Similar to Cinnamon (https://www.deviantart.com/ikyle/art/Cinnamon-Hazelnut-Version-1-4-828100167), he is also highly intelligent and excels at all of his studies, graduating from the University of Light at the top of his class. However, unlike Cinnamon who is known for being well-rounded in skills and learns best from reading, Mac is very hands-on and has his interests elsewhere, such as technology, machinery, computers, inventing... It should also be mentioned that Mac is an absolute nerd.
Besides the above, he is into everything you can think of: video games, comics, anime, you name it, he's probably into it and he can go on for hours. It'll be something you immediately notice about him. Mac is pretty shy and nervous a lot of the time, he knows what he's talking about but that doesn't mean those around him will, causing him to fall silent or pull back when he doesn't have to. However, if you can be comfortable around him or talk about something he's interested in, he can go on for a long time. It even changes his tone: he might stutter before, but get him in a good spot, and he'll be comfortable.
Joining this group was unlike anything he had gone through previously too. After all, he was just an ordinary college student. At least, on the surface, he was. In his dorm, that was a different story, building all sorts of contraptions and devices freely and seemingly without difficulty. It sometimes worried his dorm mates that he'd get them all into trouble. However, that didn't stop the reigning princes, Goldie and Alex (SDragon01), from greeting him during a surprise visit to the campus. Completely starstruck, Mac had the hardest time introducing himself to the young boys, but they were fascinated in his prowess in his grades and his contributions to the institution. So much that, although unprofessional some might say, Alex suggests inviting the Koopa over to their home for a special Thanksgiving dinner. Mac could not say no.
The Koopa came back to the Tower with them on Thanksgiving Day, able to spend the entire day with the Royal Family. Eventually he was confronted by Kye, and impressed with his knowledge of technology, he was invited to start a team, answering the most dire of calls that Ioa had to offer.
Later, one such call came about that required the whole team to respond, a hidden lab of the nefarious Dr. Y. While the team was too late in capturing the mad doctor, a new discovery was made: a different room of the lab that hid sleeping Pokémon. While inspecting the machinery of the darkened room, Mac was unfortunately trapped in a capsule that triggered a fusion sequence between him and a Raichu. The team had responded to Mac when he was now in trouble, and took him back to the Tower.
Thankfully, a simple dose of Reform Potion was enough to split him and the Raichu up, who later introduced himself as Rae. It was discovered that the purpose of that lab was to fuse Pokémon with subjects in order to inherit their powers. It seems that the project wasn't entirely complete, as Mac's legs were the shape of a Raichu's legs, and he had the tail of one too. However, it wasn't a clean separation either, as the Koopa had now inherited Rae's electric powers, resulting in his tail taking on the jagged shape it is in now, looking like a thunderbolt.
Now, the team has relaxed, and Mac has decided to step away from the team to spend more time with Kyle and his friends, and has taken the role as the Tower's electrician and mechanic, so he could focus more on his own projects and maximize his potential in the tech that Draggie [LilArrin (https://www.deviantart.com/lilarrin)] had left behind.
Once again another rushed description because I decided to upload this right before bed/morning shift, so maybe this needs a rewrite, but I thank you nonetheless for looking and reading!
