Jennifer Green, the Black Market Dollmaker
Jennifer is not what you would call a good person. However, given the life she was born into, good was never really an option.
Her father is the owner of an interplanetary tech company, Softcells Industries, and the head of a massive syndicate that has a stranglehold over a third of the populated galaxy. Softcells Industries is the only manufacturer that produces Synth Dolls, an extremely popular line of bio-androids that are used for all kinds of labor. So Jennifer's family is disgustingly rich.
Jennifer was meant to take her father's place as head of the family, like a "good son". But Jennifer was not especially interested in running a company. Or being a man. When Dad found out, he almost had her killed.
Fortunately, Jennifer's mother found a compromise: Instead of taking a leading role in the family business, she helps the company by creating custom dolls. Specifically, she finds people nobody will miss, and converts them into special dolls with a custom-made body and personality, for extremely wealthy buyers who want servants/companions/workers that
are more advanced than the truly synthetic ones.
It's a pretty twisted line of work, to be sure. But she gets to be herself. And she never has to see her father. So it could be a lot worse.
I originally had Amara draw Jennifer a couple years ago when I won a freebie sketch during one of Amara's raffles. But I didn't like how her design came out. This time around, I based her look on Huntara from the new She-Ra. And now she looks great! :D
