I always thought the Vision Jet kinda looked like an egg. Always amuses me whenever I see it.

This is the first time I've seen one first hand. It's kinda cute for a blob shaped bird.

That's a Cirrus jet. I was working in Duluth MN across the runway from where they're made

I've seen photos of them... they are way out of my budget.

The thing need a half mile runway to take off... so you want something to slow the impact speed with the ground... because you know the stall speed is going to be fast.

VERy nice seen pictures of light jets with simulacra body shape can;t say I've seen anything with the engine placed like that. I was looking for pontoons at first because that what the engine placement reminds me of the few jet powered float planes.

A quick Google search a few more than I thought with top placed engines but this is likely a Vision Jet by Cirrus Aircraft

I got ta ask, if the exhaust is out of the back of the engine, what keeps it from frying the tail section?

the exposed parts are designed to handle it.. Also as a light jet its not tossing out the energy and heat of larger jets

Yep it was, the bummer was the market didn't have what wanted so the trip was a bust except for this.

Wow that thing is too cool. I do so love neat aircraft. I bet it has some major speed. I would love to be able to see it in action or be a passenger. Small aircraft a the most fun to ride in in my opinion. Thanks for sharing this buzz bomb.

They cruise at 300 knots, the down side they need over half a mile of runway to get off the ground at sea level. They say they seat up to seven but they only have a payload of 1400 pounds.

Ah I see. You would think it would take less. So one has to either take nothing when full of peeps or have a few passengers with luggage. In some instances just a few folks would bring it to capacity.

It is a nice looking bird, the paint scheme does make it more interesting. One of the guy's posted a link to the aircraft makers website.

That looks very similar to the Meyer's jet concept from the late 1960's. It never got past a few drawings but man it would have changed aviation if it had been built. The Meyer's 200D was considered one of the best designs for civilian aviation ever built. When Meyer died the design and type certificates were sold to Aero Commander who was shocked to find they couldn't build the plane with 50 old ladies in hairnets and cancelled the program because it cost too much to make. Meyer's last project was the 400 Interceptor which was a turbo Prop version of the 200D. It is a plane of superlatives that could hardly be matched even today. The engine was derated as even then it could take off and fly just on the exhaust. It is pressurized and could fly as high as airliners. It had the flight characteristics of a P-51 and it looked fast just sitting on the tarmac. It was even considered for use as a fighter by the Turkish Air Force but Mr. Meyer passed away before that gained traction. As far as I know there is only one left in the world but man that thing is still an awesome plane.
