There was this one comic book issue of Sonic the Hedgehog where Robotnik used his DNA to fuel the evi intentions of this evolving robot called E.V.E. That issue had a more dynamic drawing style applied to the characters and it's memorable to me that way. It's issue 21. Came out WAY BACK in 1995.
