Hey guys it's been a million years since I used FA. I'm not overly active in the furry community much anymore unfortunately but I thought I'd give y'all one more recipe. Who knows maybe i'll come back every year lol
So here's a black tea tea-cake i made with some hella fancy black tea my dad got me last time he was in Taiwan. But you can make it with your favorite loose-leaf black tea <3
---
yield: 2 large loafs or 8 mini loafs
Ingredients:
2 c whole milk
6 T black tea (loose leaf preferred)
¾ c butter - soft
2 c sugar
4 eggs
½ c veg oil
2 t vanilla
4 c AP flour
1 T baking powder
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 bag of tea (yes a bag, not leaf)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F
2. Bring milk to a boil - add loose leaf tea - turn off and let steep while it cools - once cool strain out the tea leaves
3. Cream butter and sugar (might be grainy it’s FINE don't WORRY ABOUT IT)
4. Add eggs - mix until incorporated
5. Slowly stream in oil - add vanilla
6. Add in ½ the drys - then ½ the milk tea - repeat until both are gone (if seems really wet add another ¼ c of flour) ((don't want it to be paste tho - just not liquid))
7. Ripe that tea bag open and throw that shit in there - for added speckles for aesthetic purposes really (otherwise it’s just yellow cake…)
8. Bake for 30-35 min for mini loafs and about 50-60 min (start with 50) for large loafs or until a toothpick comes out clean
And then just serve with tea or coffee (but it's a tea cake i mean come on) and enjoy!
