Sometimes my muse leads down some odd paths and combines stuff in odd ways. This painting was inspired partly by my friend Hannah JS Davis lovely tiny bee sketch and the way my poison arrow frog dragon painting turned out to be RBG ie red.blue, green. Here is the result of that mash up. RBG bees. And interesting note the blue and green bees are real. When i went searching for a red bee I found a really cool one that was red due to having drunk the run off from a candy producer. I suspect the photo was a manip but it worked for my purposes. I did the back ground flowers in speia because I wanted the focus to be on the bees.

A fun and cute pic and a good pun. I've seen some sort of native bee here in Arizona that is rather blue in color - several flowering plants in the yard attracts bees of all sorts. Fun to watch them - even had a swarm in a tree for 5 days this year - glad they moved on to a better location.
