Ferrets are long, but not quite THAT long. That's why I mentioned that there are two ferrets involved, since it DOES look like what you observed.

Nyah I fall in love with ferrets every time I go to the local pet store. They have a cute white one there. I'm all like BE MINE!!! But my mom thinks they're super smelly and stuff. Plus if I did get a pet i might get a dog. ^^

They are only smelly if not kept properly.

Ferret stink rules:
1: Young ferrets are ALWAYS smelly for a few months because of store diet.
2: Clean the cage daily. Ferret poop is stinky.
3: Clean their ears out every two weeks or monthly at most. Ferret ear wax is VERY stinky.
4: Wash them monthly, but NO MORE than once every two weeks. Monthly is better though. Wash them too often and they get more skin oil to compensate, thus making them smell muskier.
5: Better food and better health means less stinky. Not Marshal Farms.
6: Let them out to play. More play means less stinky too. Ferrets should be handled and played with at least four hours a day in a safe environment.

Nyah I think I'll stick with a dog! but that's eventualy. I have to have my own place, and then actualy be ready to handle the responsibility. I'm a bit morbid in the sense that when I think about getting a pet I worry about they're life span and having to loose them. Or not having enough time to give them the attention they need. Plus I juggle between the idea of getting a new pet or adopting. Adopting would really help out some poor mutt but it's just so magical to get them as a puppy...

But at the same time I feel I SHOULD get a pet because my mom told me that animals re-incarnate as other animals, and might try to hook up with thier old masters. Not that I think it's definite, but it certainly could happen and it's a nice thought.
