He needs a brushing! I haven't drawn him and Skunk Boy together in forever, maybe that's something to try sometime... but I also think Skunky bending down to put food in his bowl or something and Wolfy being rightfully scared of his big skunk butt would be funny too!
I have all these drawing ideas that I've held on to for weeks, months, even years... but when it comes time to draw I never actually draw any of them, lol.
Kinda reminds me of back when I had a dog, he was some sort of collie mix and you could seriously make an entire new collie out of the hair you'd brush from his coat.

ohmygosh that would make for a really cute pic Xb
always good to jot down the ideas, so that when you're ready to draw you dont have to struggle to recall them. Thats an issue i have often
man my parent own a german shepherd and the amount of brushing she needs is INSANE

Which would make a cute pic, the brushing? Or the fear of the butt? Or both?
I have this weird thing where I'll farm up tons of ideas but then sit down and not want to draw ANY of them for some reason. Brains are stupid.
When you brush the German Shepherd, is it that soft "undercoat" fur that comes out? That's what it was with Alex. Sometimes he'd even have these little "buds" of it that would sorta poke out of his fur and he'd try to eat the hairball if you removed it. He was a weird dog.

the butt fear! or both tbh
i have so many fun ideas and unspiration when im laying in bed, or out for a walk. but the second im at my computer? with my art tools at the ready? the ideas slip away. and im left with a big blank canvas
yeah i think it was undercoat! she's going much better after a big solid brushing. pulling out those buds/loose clumps is a lot of fun honestly, satisfying to remove.

Okay so my dog wasn't the only one that was practically trying to reproduce by budding. Good to know! It was fun pulling those little balls of hair out though.
So much potential for drawing interaction between human/anthro and feral/"normal" animals and yet I never seem to do so... I did draw him playing with Skunk Boy once or twice, though! I have their first meeting cross-posted here, and one of their other interactions that I didn't think was really up to snuff and worth cross-posting (that I might redraw sometime) can be found here. Wolfy kinda has that same intelligence level as Scooby-Doo I'd say--not *quite* human, but clearly more intelligent than the average dog! Most of the time, at least...
Also I really should get around to Wolfy walking Skunk Boy on a leash, because I love role-reversal shit like that. Whether to keep Skunky fully clothed, or have Wolfy parade him around in nothing but those silly briefs, though, that's the question...

scooby doo is exactly what came to mind! with the feral animal being so intelligent. come to think of it though I rarely draw my characters interacting.. something we should both try to do more of! cause it's just so dang charming
oo that sounds like petplay, beware the comments you might get Xb

Character interaction is hard, though! You gotta get them scaled/proportioned correctly relative to one another, and what I often struggle with even more than that is, actually coming up with good interactions!
I agree though it's something we should try more of. I think what really got to me was that feeling like I *had* to have new content daily, and spending double the time on a picture of two characters just didn't seem "worth it", and that's a terrible mindset to have tbh.
Also I'm glad you know exactly what I mean by comparing him to Scooby Doo. One thing I'm still not 100% sure on is the "furry" definition of the term "feral", is it like an anthropomorphic level of intelligence in a normal quadruped body, like the characters in The Lion King? Or does it refer to 100% normal animals just drawn in more "furry" type styles or art? I always wonder if I'm using certain tags correctly, or if there are certain tags and fandom slang and terms I *should* be using but just don't know about.
That is not pet-play at all, that is just cartoon humor, I would never draw fetish art like that! /sarcasm
I like to mess with blurring the lines between "cartoon humor" and "fetish art" a bit, a lot of what I draw seems to toe that line.

right?? and man, drawing rooms is sooo hard :'u
characters that look ok relative to each other, AND reltative to the BG (with angles and shading and UGH) what a mess. but you should never push yourself too hard, art is supposed to be fun after all :b
drawing warrior cats is so fun for me, i do it all the time to destress haha
oh man the duality of feral vs anthro in universe is SOO wild, everyone has their own opinions on it. like that age old inquiry about goofy being a dog, and mickey's pet pluto, who is the same kind of dog.. and how one is on all 4s and acts like a dog. but the other is intelligent and wears clothes? but the dog can understand english sometimes, like how scooby/pikachu do!?!? every anthro universe has its own confusing rules, I still cant decide on my own Xb
honestly a lot of fetishes seem to derive from cartoons!

I agree, art should be fun, especially if it's a hobby and you're not trying to monetize or anything like that, but there's the other side of the coin as well, never trying to push your boundaries means you wind up kinda where I have at times in the past--doing the same things over and over, in a rut, too lazy to push those limits at all. Just gotta find that balance between "I just wanna chill" and "I'm going to try something new today".
My solution to having anthro and feral forms exist together in an Earth-like environment is pretty simple: humans and apes both exist on Earth. If you think of a human more as an "anthropomorphic ape", suddenly the idea of anthropomorphic dogs coexisting and interacting with their animal cousins is WAY less odd.
My universe is weird because it also has a world where "magic fighting animal" types that grow by "evolution" (it's actually metamorphosis, if you wanna get pedantic, but Pokemon called it "evolution" so that's in the cultural consciousness now) just sorta exist and that's how they work? I had to explain that away by introducing quasi-magical ancient aliens that did it. At some point I do need to just start dumping lore and see if I can make heads or tails of any of it--or just subject the masses to my insanity and let *them* figure it out!
I often have this sort of "chicken and egg" debate with one of my friends, who seems to think the prevalence of "adult cartoon animal dressed as baby" gags meant all these animators were closet babyfurs before "babyfur" was even a thing, yet it seems every babyfur I've ever encountered cites the 1940s Tom and Jerry short "Baby Puss" as one of the major reasons they got into it/discovered they were into it. Whether these things were put into the cartoons intentionally because somebody had a kink, I'm sort of doubtful of, since it seems like a lot of people who grew up with these cartoons, grew up to have these fetishes, where you didn't really hear about them before.
Look at me, trying to be a psychologist now, lol.

OMG YES, that solution to feral and anthros is awesome!! I've thought the same thing before :^D
hmm that is an interesting one, I guess I dont think about it much. honestly a lot of stuff about the fetishes on here is interesting. I think it's a lot more likely that animators were just having fun, and that it awoke something in the audience! but also, maybe once the creators started doing any of that stuff, it became really fun for them as well? lol I really dont know Xb

It's such an obvious solution yet it seems so groundbreaking at the same time! We need to make this mainstream.
I'm with you in that I think the cartoonists and animators were just having fun, or telling a story, or just coming up with silly cartoon gags, and that in turn may have awoken something in their audiences, especially the younger ones. It gets *really* interesting when you think about all the crossover appeal that fetishes can have, why two people can seem to be into the same thing but the reason *why* they like it is vastly different.
