after a few phone calls to distance family members (fathers side) i learned some fun history.

anne was born April 20th 1917 in charlottenburg . his family had many hardships growing up inculdeing he lost almost all his siblings to crippling fevers. he grew up with aspirations to be a great man in life , he wanted to farm. he was soon caught up in the military soon after meeting his girlfriend. Gerlinde. before the war got serious though. he quickly married his love. years wore on and he got into his allgemeine uniform , and mostly worked behind scenes. soon he was deployed to the field , in full black ( or blue) dress. he does not like what he sees. and does not enjoy the slaughter he witnesses. hes a homely man. and is said to have stood up before an execution of a young family for hording food. his voice did not help them.

1943 he no longer wanted to be forced into this. his wife was heavily pregnant , and did not want his child to grow up in this hell. he knew what he was going to do. move west , and turn himself in to the US. once again , in full black dress. he approached a medical tent his hand on his equipped dagger. in the tent lied a child , she was gravely injured and one man was helping her. anne let out a yell and panicked . fumbled to get some papers from his pocket. Chester Sulewski turned from his patient and panicked as well, grabing his gun from the table , Anne started to yell in broken english "american , take that.. i need none of this" as he took the papers from his left , were he wore his gun. Chester did what he had to. a SS has stormed his tent shouting. he shot him point blank underneath his eye. he was dead before he hit the floor on his 26th birthday. . 4/20/1943 was also the day his wife gave birth to a young daughter , who she named anna after the nick name her father had.

chester bent down and took the papers from the man and one dog tag. he opened the papers to read in his script. it was a formal statement he wrote , how he wanted nothing to do with the ss. he nearly wanted to be a farmer. chester had killed an innocent man. he kept these papers , his sword and a few pins. and his tag and disposed of the mans body.

how do i know all of this? this is my family. Chester is my grandmothers father. Anne is the father of my grandmothers distant sister on my fathers side. close friends know , ive only met my father maybe 3 times. he was never in my life.
