A sketch that imitates a real coati photograph I've been using as sometime reference material, from http://thenewhartman.blogspot.com/2.....co-part-4.html (itself copying from https://www.pet-spot.com/blog/?p=191 which seems to be a dead link). Check out the way that real tail shows you its shape and its fluff.
What's really significant about this is that it's my first digital picture not drawn on my decade-old iPad!
plaidfluff sold me her surplus-to-requirements iPad Pro, and that arrived yesterday morning and here, today, my first picture on it. This is still done with ArtRage, which has a slightly different and slightly better interface than the ten-years-old iPad could handle. It's also one that has none of my saved references, like brush styles or anything, so a lot of this picture was me trying to find settings that I kind of liked. Definitely happy with the way I got tall grass to look, so that's something I've taken from all those Walt Kelly panel redraws.
