“If you think of yourself as a god, only to lose everything; then you’re deserving of the title ‘fool’ not ‘victim’”- Dakari
Personality: On the surface, Dakari comes across as calm, easy going and flirtatious, often portraying the role of a seductive temptress. In addition, Dakari displays an accommodating and agreeable attitude, always willing to do what others ask of her with little hesitation; willing to support the ideals and goals of others with an amorous smile.
However, despite how appealing and unassuming Dakari’s exterior may seem, her inviting demeanor masks a far deadlier side, one that is only seen when misfortune is about to befall someone, and it is far too late for them to late prevent it. Just beneath Dakari’s flirtatious and agreeable surface, lies a treacherous and frighteningly tactful mind that makes her a threat to anyone, regardless of position or power. Dakari is cunning, insidious, and very persuasive; making use of any and everything at her disposal to further her own goals. Dakari is manipulative to a heinous degree, orchestrating various events that will only serve to ultimately benefit her; as well as using others as pawns to further her ambitions. This layer of her personality is greatly aided by her natural allure and charisma, both of which she wields with such efficiency that they can be construed as weapons in her hands. Dakari has no issue using her charm and sex appeal to get whatever she desires; but this only serves as a stepping stone to how well she functions as a manipulator. Due to needing to appeal to whomever she is trying to benefit from, Dakari is more than capable of changing her outer persona to facilitate the requirements in order to get close to her target. Dakari has no qualms about exploiting any insecurity or fault a person demonstrates, or by appealing to someone’s strengths by means of flattery in an effort to get in the person’s good graces. This is demonstrated heavily when Dakari appealed to her father’s self-importance and sense of superiority by consistently offering praise, succeeding in making herself seem like trustworthy servant and later on queen. In addition to manipulating her target’s perception of her, Dakari takes pleasure in psychologically toying with her victims, always keeping in mind her current persona as not to arouse suspicion. Dakari is extremely dedicated to the art of deception so much so that she will continue on with her false persona even when there is no one around. Its only when she is certain of her victory that she will discard her outward facade and reveal the ruthless side underneath; but these times are rare as she sometimes won’t reveal it at all, continuing on with the charade even after the goal is met. Aside from her deceptive skills, one of Dakari’s greatest strengths would undoubtedly be her patience as she can continue on with her schemes for extended periods without breaking character, as proven by her playing the part of an eager servant for several years before enacting her vengeance, despite her ever-increasing rage the entire time. It is unknown just how far Dakari will go to achieve whatever goal she has her mind set on; but given the willing murder of her father, it is likely she is capable of committing more treacherous acts if the situation calls for it.
Combined with her sinister tactics and the treacherous lengths she is willing to go; Dakari can be a sadistic flirt when it comes to dealing with targets who she especially feels deserve it. Similar to Gemini and Megumi who can make threats while maintaining composure all the while issuing a slight smile; Dakari can perform a similar action, yet her smile is far more foreboding. Dakari can issue death threats while offering her a target a smirk that conveys a calm eagerness to end their lives. At times, Dakari can also give her opponents a sinister grin that can be best described as a death sentence in and of itself. Dakari has also proven to be a sadistic flirt as well, having offered some of her opponents a kiss before they die by her hand, further emphasizing the menacing demeanor that hides behind her alluring frame.
Although her devious side may make Dakari seem contemptable, even this facet of her personality, betrays what lies in her heart; and in truth acts as an alternate persona more than anything. At Dakari’s core, lies what can only be described as her “true” self, a side that no one would believe existed unless they were to get to know her. In truth, Dakari can be compassionate, sympathetic, and extremely civil when it comes to others; being able to reciprocate kindness and respect so long as the same gesture is extended to her. Dakari can be genuinely friendly and welcoming so long as she is sure she can trust or understand the person, and even before then, she can come across as very cordial if treated with dignity. If disrespected, Dakari can be hostile and sharp tongued, not afraid to insult or attack someone if thoroughly provoked. In tandem to her more aggressive side, Dakari can be extremely vindictive if she feels as if she or someone she cares about was wronged, more so if it was intentionally. This is proven by her comment to her dying father, stating that his suffering from the effects of the poison was considered “merciful” compared to how she truly wanted to end his life. In spite of her more aggressive tendencies, Dakari is surprisingly grounded and displays more modest qualities that one wouldn’t assume at a glance. One surprising quality is how humble Dakari actual is. This is heavily proven during her time as queen as she felt uneasy being waited on hand and foot by the slaves; not wanting to be served by others. Another admirable quality is Dakari’s selflessness; proven by her tendency to help others who are in difficult situations. This is shown when she assisted the various servants and citizens of the Anteph kingdom, even bestowing some of the king’s wealth upon them after his death, despite it not being part of her initial objective. Dakari’s selfness is further proven by the fact that the only reason she steals and deceives is done more out of the interest of others rather than herself; usually taking from those she deems wicked, gluttonous, or selfish. Although, Dakari has no problem helping others, she has stated that she is not actively trying to be a hero. In fact, in regards to who Dakari will help is usually dependent on their status or disposition, as she is more willing to help those who were treated poorly or unfairly deceived, rather than anyone she comes across.
An interesting thing to note is, despite Dakari’s core personality only being seen by those close to her, traces of it can be seen in the various personas she takes. Such examples are somewhat seen in the vicious acts Dakari can and will commit, as she surprisingly, has various morals and ethics she is not willing to compromise for the sake of a successful mission. For example, Dakari’s refuses to harm or cause trouble for innocent people, often times using tactics that don’t involve anyone other than potential targets or those close to said target. Despite her numerous deceptions, Dakari has the capacity for honesty; however, her tendency to stretch the truth and twist certain details is usually done to soften the blows or prevent others from worrying, as shown with her mother. However, even though Dakari may lie to others, she is 100% honest with herself and her motives. Dakari will never delude herself or try to rationalize her actions when it comes to trying to achieve certain goals. For this reason, Dakari knows full well that her theft and deceptions are considered morally reprehensible, but is willing to take such measures if it means helping others who don’t have the means to help themselves. In addition to this self-honesty, Dakari has stated that should the consequences of her actions catch up with her, she will accept the full weight of her crimes with no complaints; showing that she possesses a great deal of maturity. The treatment Dakari and her mother suffered from the people of the city and the king has led to the former having a hint of bitterness and pessimism when it comes to certain things; which has ultimately led to Dakari’s distrust in those who hold power. Dakari has stated she finds it hard to trust others who hold a high amount of wealth, fame, status, or power due to believing those of higher status to not be genuine or considerate of those who do not have the same position as them. For this reason, Dakari despises being looked down on and can quickly grew irritated if not enraged when it appears as if someone showcases a superior or patronizing attitude towards her. Despite her distaste for the cards that life has dealt her, Dakari takes the situation as best she can, but her drive to remedy the situation has proven to be greater than her trickery, and its more than likely she will continue on this path for much time to come.
Having lied and deceived others for so long, Dakari has an innate ability to detect when someone is lying or not being completely honest with her or others. While she can usually determine this by eye contact, she also knows how to subtly “interrogate” someone by asking specific questions that would give her an obvious reaction that would immediately tell her that someone wasn’t being truthful. Dakari can gauge things such as tone of voice, general composure, breathing, and even subtle changes in order to see how genuine someone is being. Having seen various instances of someone trying to deceive others, Dakari can perfectly hide her own deceptions, being able to divert attention from herself or make herself seem truly innocent afterwards.
Through Dakari’s trickery and various lies, she understands and is fully aware that some may not trust her, especially if they have even the faintest glimmer of suspicion towards her. In fact, Dakari has stated that even some of the Apostles have doubts about her and her loyalties and sometimes wonder whether or not she can be trusted. Despite this knowledge, Dakari has stated that she is not concerned with what others think of her, especially when they take little to no time to understand her; in fact, Dakari has stated that this works in her favor as keeping her allies in the dark is another way for her to continue any future plans unhampered. However, even though Dakari knows that even some of her own allies don’t trust her, she has stated that she finds it refreshing that some have managed to push past the veil of lies she constantly hides behind in order to see the true self that dwells in her heart. It’s for this reason that Dakari enjoys the company of Kamala, who can truly see that she good in her heart and the likes of both Orion and Seraphi, both of whom don’t believe Dakari is truly a bad person.
*Abilities: As with her near perfect mastery of deception and thievery, Dakari possesses exceptional skill with her powers, being able to make short work of various shadow encounters and deceive some of the more skilled fighters. Even before the unlocking of her sparra, Dakari proved to be a threat due to her sharp intellect and trickery, being able to overthrow and liberate a kingdom by herself. After awakening her powers, Dakari proved herself to be a frighteningly efficient combatant; being able to vanquish a group of shadows in a single strike, push the likes of Kamala into a corner despite her spiritual mastery, and even managed to restrain an umbra class shadow despite its immense physical strength.
*Sparra control/Type: Dakari wields the Geo sparra type, an advanced sparra type that consists of an equal combination of earth and copy based sparra types. This sparra allows Dakari to create, control, and manipulate various earthly substances, such as sand, dirt, rock, marble, stone, etc. In addition to being able to control earth-based substances, Dakari has the ability to transmute any substance she controls into another earthen material, such as changing sand to stone, rock to dirt, etc. Combined with her ability control various forms of earth, Dakari can use the portion of copy sparra that comprises her overall sparra type to create other forms of earth-based substances and phenomena such as mud and clay, as well as small sandstorms and mudslides respectively. However, with these powers, Dakari cannot manipulate more refined earth-based materials such as crystal or glass.
*Intelligence: As her deceptive nature would imply, Dakari has proved to be remarkably intelligent and sharp witted, being able to plan various strategies in advance along with contingences should something go array. Similar to Gemini, Dakari will often times treat battles like tests of intellect and skill rather than testaments of strength; using both the battle field and various objects in the area as “game pieces” in order to claim victory. Dakari will utilize various strategies that will revolve around both trickery and ambush tactics to catch opponents off guard and exploit the very moment someone falls prey to these maneuvers to either deliver the finishing blow or to hinder an opponent by limiting their options or mobility. In tandem, Dakari’s resourcefulness has aided her greatly as she can make use of both the terrain given to her as well as byproducts of her powers to deliver unexpected assaults.
*Physical Capabilities: Dakari has considerable physically capabilities, despite not being a hand-to-hand combatant like various other Apostles. Dakari possesses a fair amount of speed and stamina, being able to keep pace with certain combatants and engage in battles for a considerable amount of time without tiring. In addition to this, Dakari has exceptional striking power should she choose to use physical attacks, being able to deal considerable damage with blows and being able to launch opponents a good distance with a strong swing of her tail. In tandem with her other physical abilities, Dakari possesses flexibility and reflexes that rivals the likes of Kamala, allowing her to evade and weave through certain attacks without much issue. However, despite these capabilities, one aspect that dwarfs the others is Dakari’s durability. Dakari can take a considerable amount of damage from both physical and sparra related attacks without suffering lasting damage, having a resilience threshold that only a few other Apostles can match and fewer can surpass.
*Weapon Skills: In the beginning Dakari’s ability to use a weapon was subpar due to rarely engaging in direct confrontations. However, after becoming an Apostle and meeting other warriors, Dakari trained in several combative weapon arts so that she wouldn’t need to rely solely on her sparra when fighting opponents. Thanks to her training, Dakari has a firm grasp on how to fight using several weapons and has been able to match various fighters in weapon combat, even being able to hold her own against some of the more experienced combatants. However, overtime, Dakari personally honed her weapon skills being able to outclass various warriors at close range even being able to surpass stronger opponents with little effort. Similar to her overall fighting style, Dakari can use weapons in a deceptive fashion to catch opponents off guard and deliver decisive strikes when the opportunity presents itself.
*Weapon Contracts: Having been trained in weaponry to make up for her weakness in close quarters combat, Dakari has surprising skill with several weapons, allowing her to fight effectively at varying ranges; using sparra at mid to long range and weaponry when up close.
*Throne’s Key: A jeweled scepter in the shape of a large ankh with a snake coiled at its base. The staff allows Dakari to control her elements with motions and various maneuvers.
*Deceptive Truths: A twin pair of khopesh that can draw various earth-based elements to their blades in order to fashion different weaponry. By using stone, the blades turn into jagged swords, sand to fashion whips, and various other tools depending on the material.
*Notable abilities/Signature Techniques: Using the art of deception and trickery in tandem with her earth-based abilities, Dakari is an extremely difficult opponent to predict or outthink; with trickery, forethought, and misdirection being some of her more preferred tools.
*Anteph Military Style Weapon Combat: After Dakari liberated the Anteph kingdom, various generals of the military wanted to teach her the ways of weapon combat as a way to protect herself and to express their gratitude for her kindness. This weapon style of combat, while commonly used by the military of the Anteph military, is unique as no other kingdom uses it; requiring an equal combination of aggression and agility to utilize properly. While Dakari has mastered several weapons during her training of this fighting style, she has given her own personal touch, incorporating combinations of finesse and trickery to make it her own; even utilizing her flexibility to make her movements unpredictable and hard to read. Due to incorporating these aspects into the style, Dakari gives of the impression that she’s dancing, similar to Kamala. However, unlike Kamala, Dakari’s style is far more aggressive even though it still gives off the aura of elegance with its dance-like flourishes and sweeps. Dakari has even managed to implement assassination style tactics into the overall fighting technique as to demonstrate of how deadly she can be with a weapon.
*Nubian Tablet: Channeling sparra into her palms, Dakari will place her hands on the ground causing a wall of earth to quickly erupt from the ground, either in front of her or an opponent. While this technique is typically used for protection by utilizing stone or rock; Dakari can also use it to simply obscure enemy sight or to use it as a set up for another technique that she will initiate later, usually by using dirt or sand in the wall’s creation. This technique can also be used in an offensive manner by having it fall on an opponent, resulting in them being crushed by the sheer weight of the structure. Dakari can manipulate the overall size of the wall by incorporating more sparra into it; even being able to make multiple walls to capture an enemy or control the overall battlefield.
*Pharaoh’s Crossing: Dakari coats her finger in a mass of twisting sand. After doing this, Dakari will perform an underhanded flinging motion that will cause the sand to leave her hand and travel along the ground in the direction in which she performed the throwing gesture. This creates a blindingly fast-moving wave of sand that will effectively cut anything in its path, leaving a sizeable trench afterwards. This move can travel a great distance before dissipating and the speed in which it’s performed makes it hard to avoid or outrun. The only downside of this technique is that is travels in a straight line, meaning if the opponent has a fast enough reaction time, they can avoid it. Dakari can create different variants of this move by changing her hand gesture when she performs the tossing motion; such as creating a multiple fan spread of sand waves by using a claw gesture, or a larger more destructive wave by using her entire hand.
*Feasting Soil: Dakari will channel sparra into her hand before performing a grasping gesture towards a target of her choosing. Immediately after performing this action, the ground underneath the opponent will swiftly open, forming a pair of large jaws that will quickly close around the target; effectively burying them. After a few moments the area the opponent was buried under will erupt in a violent explosion of whatever was used to encase them. The sheer pressure of both the burial and subsequent eruption can cause a great deal of damage if it doesn’t completely pulverize the enemy. Dakari can control the size of the jaws used to capture the opponent, allowing her to either bury larger foes or a group of unwary enemies.
*Spears of the Nile: Channeling sparra into her legs, Dakari will quickly stomp her foot, causing clusters of sharp stone spires to erupt from the ground, all the while traveling towards an opponent of Dakari’s choosing, impaling them if they are unable to escape. This wave of spires will track whatever target Dakari chooses, even being able to split off into multiple waves to pursue other opponents. The wave of spires lasts a considerable amount time and is fairly quick in its pursuit, making it difficult to avoid or outlast. While Dakari typically uses stone to perform this move, she can change the type of earth used in the creation of the spikes.
*Starved Locust: Dakari will pick up a mass of earth and begin to kneed it with both hands, all the while channeling her sparra into it. After doing this, Dakari will throw the mass at her opponent, only for it to quickly morph into a small swarm of stone locusts. These insects will quickly and frantically swarm around whoever Dakari desires. Due to their speed and stone composition, the swarm will leave swift, and sometimes deep, cuts along the victim’s body, all the while acting as a distraction if they cannot injure the opponent. These locusts are controlled by Dakari and follow her hand movements precisely, but they do not have any form of sentience.
*Sand Shroud: Dakari will gather a spiraling ball of sand in her hand before tossing it at her opponent. When the mass of sand collides with something solid, be it the ground, object, or enemy; the ball will immediately erupt into a large twister of sand that will rampage about the area for a while. If an opponent is hit by the miniature sandstorm then they will be captured by the winds; and due to the speed in which the sand is spinning it can leave fairly deep lacerations and rend flesh with ease. Dakari can sometimes combine small rocks or stone into the creation of the twister to increase the damage it causes and give the attack a piercing property.
*Queen’s Clutches: Dakari uses her sparra to create large hands of earth that she can strike with. Despite being made of earth, these appendages will float in midair and will perfectly mimic whatever Dakari does with her own hands, being able to strike and move with the same fluidity and speed she can; however, their striking power is far greater given their composition. Dakari can use these hands to strike, capture, and crush opponents; however, their range is very limited, consisting of about 5 meters. This means this technique is best used up close than at a distance. Dakari can change the nature of the hands and alternate their earthen composition depending on her needs at that moment, such as using stone and rock for sheer force, or mud and sand to set up another technique. There is a secondary version to this technique in which Dakari will coat her arms in earth to increase her own power and to act as armor.
*Three King’s Burial: Dakari creates a mass of mud in the palm of hand before tossing it out around the area. The mud will create large pools wherever it lands and regardless of how much of it hits the ground. The pools of mud create deep sinkholes that can trap any opponent and subsequently drag them down deeper until they are completely submerged. The mud used in this technique is extremely viscous making it hard to escape from once caught; as such the pools act as a deterrent for enemies. There is a secondary version of this technique in which Dakari uses quicksand instead of mud, and though the move loses some of its viscous properties the speed in which enemies are submerged is far quicker than the mud.
*Hidden Pillar: Dakari channels sparra into her hands and will quickly snap her fingers whenever the moment strikes her. This results in a pillar of earth springing up just underneath a target of her choosing. Due to the speed in which the pillar erupts from the ground and its solid nature, this technique can cause a good amount of damage while simultaneously launching the opponent a considerable distance into the air. This move allows Dakari or an ally to take advantage of the airborne enemy and follow up with another attack. Dakari can use a secondary variant of this technique in which she creates a geyser of mud or loose clay. While the force is still enough to launch the opponent, its damage is greatly decreased; however, the reason for this is due to its added benefit. When the opponent is hit with the mud or clay, a lot of it sticks to the enemy, weighting down their movements and allowing Dakari to perform a follow up attack by using the earth that coats her foe.
*Palace Monolith: Dakari will create several small masses of earth that she will proceed to toss around the area. These chunks of earth will proceed to sink into the ground, vanishing soon after and remaining inactive. However, these masses of earth act as traps for Dakari. When Dakari slams her hands on the ground, the once inactive masses of earth will violently erupt from the ground, creating sculpted structures such as towers and walls depending on the crocodile’s wishes. The moment the masses erupt from the ground they will instantly harden. Similar to the Hidden Pillar technique, the speed in which the structures erupt they can cause a great deal of damage while sending the opponent airborne; however, this move allows Dakari to set up both offensive and defense tactics simultaneously, in addition to acting as a delayed attack and shelter for allies.
*Idol’s Puppet: Dakari will gather earth into a large mass before morphing it into a form of her choosing, usually having it take the appearance of an animal or large golem. After doing so, Dakari will take complete control over the earth made puppet, directing it to either attack an opponent or defend something such as herself or an ally. The type of earth used in the puppet’s creation will usually dictate its form; for example, sand will generally be used for flying creatures and stone will be used for larger more resilient animals. Dakari can control a single creation with one hand, with 2 being her max; however, she can’t use the same hand she’s controlling a puppet with to perform another technique due to the puppet needing a fair amount of concentration to maintain. Dakari can dismiss her technique at any time and even use the puppet to perform a different move all together; however, if the puppet is destroyed, the technique will be forcibly cancelled. In order to prevent circumvent the puppet’s destruction, Dakari can either change the earth composing the creation into something more malleable such as sand, clay, or mud; or she can continuously funnel sparra into the creature so that it can repair itself regardless of the damage inflicted on it.
*Stone Scepter: Dakari will summon small clusters of sand that will form into spear like formations before quickly turning into solid stone. After hardening, Dakari will launch the spears at the opponent with startling speed, impaling anyone not fast enough to evade them. Dakari can do a secondary version of this attack where she creates a large cluster of sand that floats in the air. After a moment the cluster will be disperse forming multiple spears that quickly harden before raining down on the area, piercing whatever they hit. Due to both the range of this variant, the speed of the falling spears, and the sheer number of them, this version is nearly impossible to evade.
*Desert Mausoleum: Easily one of Dakari’s most devastating techniques, it requires a considerable amount of sparra and control to use; so much that Dakari leaves herself open when using it. Dakari will summon a large mass of malleable earth such as dirt, sand, or mud. She will then proceed to send the mass at her opponent or a group of enemies. Upon burying her targets, Dakari will proceed to lift the mass of earth high into the air and morph the mass into a pyramid like structure. Once the mass forms into a pyramid, Dakari will turn the softer earth into either rock or stone, completely entombing the target in the now solid mass. After encasing the opponent, Dakari will proceed to slam the structure on the ground with such force that the pyramid is destroyed along with an accompanying tremor that will shake the area of impact. Due to the overwhelming pressure and force being exerted on the captured foe, they will be completely crushed upon impact with the ground. Dakari can move the pyramid where ever she pleases, allowing her to crush unwary targets even being able to lift the structure a considerable distance in the air to catch opponents off guard. In addition to the ability to crush an entombed foe, anyone unfortunate enough to be under the pyramid upon its destruction, and the subsequent tremor; Dakari can use the pyramid’s destruction as an attack by having the debris spread out immediately upon impact, allowing her to damage opponents not close enough to the impact zone.
*Sparra Induced Capabilities:
Enhanced Physical Resistance: Dakari’s sparra type gives her increased resistance to physical attacks, allowing her to shrug off certain attacks with little effort. This resistance to physical attacks augments her already impressive durability allowing her to take direct attacks from varying sources without any sort of visible damage or trauma.
And there you go, another spotlight pic featuring the Nile croc Dakari in all her luscious scaley glory!! This was done again by my good chum
eltonpot , who really enjoyed working on this one. I hope you all enjoy!!
*TRIVIA: Some of Dakari’s mannerisms and attributes are nods to various sayings that revolve around crocodiles and alligators; such as “crocodile tears” referencing her ability to feign certain emotions and act in a way that makes her seem innocent, and “crocodile smile”, referencing the fact that her smile can hide malicious thoughts and intentions.
