Asters belong to a special breed of proud dragons, where one's wings are of great importance. For some, it is a symbol of being a heavenly people, where one is superior to other beings. Some others believe that it shows one's power and strength. What the dragons could agree on was that having wings meant freedom, freedom to rise above the ground and soar among the clouds.
At a young age, a dragon learns not only about society, but also about what it means to be a dragon and what a duty you have to make your people proud. Over time, the children learn how to use their wings and the parents feel no greater pride than when they see the little ones take their first flying trip. But for some reason there was one who was still on earth. Aster practiced like crazy but could not get his wings to do as he pleased. At first it was thought he was just a little behind, but as he got older, people started looking at him in a degrading way and avoided him. His parents came to him with comforting words, but they were also worried about him. He could not find friends among his people, but one day he met a wolf who ended up becoming his first friend. He later introduced him to meeting other creatures who were skeptical at first but ended up accepting him for who he was. Suddenly it seemed less hard and he could finally get his thoughts off his wings.
One evening when Aster woke up to get a drink, he heard his parents in the living room. He could hear them talking about him and became curious about what they really meant when he was not there. He hears his father being upset and says their family is a disgrace and a laughing stock among their race. The mother tries to reassure him and tells him that even though their son may never become a real dragon, they will still love him. After hearing what he thinks, he feels betrayed by his parents. Why was it so important whether he could fly or not, he was probably as good as he was. He runs up to his room and cries because he felt alone again. After a while, he decided it was time to stop feeling sorry for himself and move on. If he could not be a dragon of heaven, he would be a dragon of earth. He would not let others make him feel like nothing again.
Aster trains hard to be the best at everything, and he also shows talent in physical sports. He is the one you almost fight for to have on your team. Even though he was starting to get some recognition, he was still missing something that could push him to get better. He lacked a rival, one he could put a face on for all those who had made him feel small. He could only see his first friend before him and over time their relationship changed. Almost every time they were seen, they had to compete over who was best for something.
Although Aster strives to be the best at everything, he still has the goal of one day being able to fly through the sky and not least, be accepted by his people...
I am really happy for how it turned out. It was fun doing it and I hope that people wil like him as i do ^^
