2017 art, guess I felt like drawing something a little more "creepy" than usual and this happened.
What cruel fate awaits Bucky the Rat-Boy?

I don't think I've drawn much gore, actually! Forever ago I parodied that scene from Lady and the Tramp with the spaghetti, but using my hyena monsters and an intestine... maybe it's time to redraw that!
I also think drawing lab settings is fun sometimes, maybe I need to pick a victim or two from my cast and just subject them to some experimentation at the hands of some mad scientist that lurks just off-screen or something. Knowing how I roll, mixing these kinds of dark themes with my sense of cartoon humor could wind up with some interesting predicaments.

Oh, nice. I'm not sure where I stand on gore art myself, I certainly don't hate it though! I guess my sense of what makes good horror is a bit more on the "psychological" side than the "graphic" side--but that's not to say I don't enjoy the occasional visual violence, either! Part of what makes this drawing interesting to me is not knowing exactly what's in store for Bucky--is he about to be experimented on, because a rat's a rat? Or will he be dissected, to figure out what makes these hybrid types tick? Maybe somebody wants to remove those inhuman imperfections? Psychopath in an abandoned insane asylum looking to populate it with some new "patients"? (The idea of "not insane character wrongly committed/swapping places with an escaped patient" is something I sorta like but never really seem to draw.) Or maybe it's just a prank, bro.
The dread and ambiguity is what makes this one, I think. Bucky has no idea what awaits him, and neither does the viewer.
