So I decided to join the fun.. webcomic here I come?
Maybe.. anyways I will probably post up the hook later but here is the sketches of most of the main cast.
On top is Nora. She's an orange half-kobold half-dwarf. Child to the arranged marriage between a kobold princess and a very drunk given up on life minor dwarven noble. She is a sweet kid who tries her best to make everyone happy, even when often faced with open bigotry.
Kaku is a red kobold. She works at the Brickovern Tavern/Inn shortly after her marriage. SIts said Kobold's mate for life, and Kaku isn't an exception. She hopes she can make her marriage work, despite the differences with her spouse. She is usually quiet around strangers and attempts to be polite but she has a short temper, something she has in common with her husband. She's still working on trying to speak civilized common.
Toregrind is Nora's father and reluctant husband to Kaku. Known to be a layabout and a complete lush, he spends all his time at the family home, trying to still come to terms with the death of his father. He was tricked into marrying a kobold during an arranged drunken stupor for a peace treaty between the dwarven city, Ebonrock, and the neighboring kobold tribe. Upon being sober and nearly killing his wife out of shock at the situation, he was locked away; his release date is quickly arriving.
Mother Brickjaw is Torgrind's coddling mother. She runs the Brickoven Tavern/Inn outside the mountain the dwarven city is built within; it also boasts a trading post for the city alongside it run by her cousin. She is a stubborn old woman but has a crippling weakness for children, especially her son whom she has babied since her husband's death.
Statue of Nurar Brickjaw is actually a golem. A gift from the city of Ebonrock's leaders to the Brickjaw family in honor of Nurar. Its true purpose is to protect Kaku and her immediate family from danger in order to protect the peace treaty. Its imbued with an echo of Nurar's personality and carved to resemble him artistically as a stone statue.
Breunilda Brickjaw is a dwarven sage on the city council and matriarch of the Brickjaw clan. It was her idea to use her good for nothing nephew in the plot. A little hurt dwarven pride was worth it in face of the past 20 years of bloodshed fought over territory within the mountain's depths.
Future characters planned:
Bard (race unknown) who decides to hang around full time to provide entertainment and find entertainment in what will result of this strange marriage.
Monk (dark-skinned human female) has taken special interest and potential of harmony that Nora could present.
Barbarian, he's big and has a thing for short women.
I'll consider most suggestions and ideas! Work will be slow since I am still recovering from a rather nasty injury to the thumb on my drawing hand.
