The result of the recent journal I wrote about practicing different species and such. I let the poster decide the expression as well, just to really force me to think and work and adapt.
The goal of these wasn't necessarily to be perfect, and defiintely not to be realistic. I just want people to be able to look at a species I've drawn and instantly know "Hey, that's a ____" without having to ask. And while I'm far from that with most species, I'm at least making a little headway x3
My real goal here was just to help get myself used to drawing things I'm not used to. I have a really bad habit of only being able to draw something if I've developed a specific method for it. It works great for that one thing, but if I don't know any other methods, I get forced to use it for everything- which is why for a long time all my species sorta looked foxish (and why many still do)
This is entirely how I learned to draw though, so learning a bit more freedom will be a long slow process, requring lots of practice. For now, though, we have a bunch of heads. And I'm pretty happy with the results. We'll see what the character's owners think though :P
Let me know how I did, folks!

Usually the eyes I do are fairly simple mostly out of necessity... at least, if I'm understanding right. With the size of the characters and I draw and the paper I work with, eyes usually end up being about... half a centimetre in size, maybe slightly larger now and then. It's hard to do much on that small a scale. x3 So they end up being pretty basic, but truth be told I mostly like how I do eyes. I think I just learned how to use them a little bit better this time around, maybe :P
I think that'd be pretty neat to see, actually. Unfortunately it's a little late in the comment string so most probably won't see this comment... maybe you should just randomly pick a few of them and slap colour on, I guarantee you nobody will mind, so if you want to go right ahead. :P
Oh good lord, it's awesome!! All of 'em, not just Jeeves (though I do luff Jeeves' maniacal grin. Muhahahaha! ^^)
Thankee ever so much for picking me. You can be certain that if and when I have the funds, I'm gonna try and snag something more commission-like from yew. :3
