I always feel bad when Oreo gets angry and is misguided. I’m glad he was able to see his error but also feel even worse for how he’s feeling at the end.

Goobrain ditched him for other humans, but he can't use that as an excuse because he ultimately proved the human right by transfurring him and not caring about his wellbeing. If he cared about the wellbeing of humans he should have protected him, not let him turn out how he did.

Honestly, I do think this is an unfair assessment. Goobrain did attempt to protect the protagonist (any transfurring that happened from him was a total accident; he also had no control over the doctor's actions who completed the transfur). Unfortunately Goobrain was limited in his abilities to be a protector, but he still clearly gave it his all in the previous pages. Goobrain even tried to correct Oreo's behavior a lot after he changed. It's just that Oreo ultimately overwhelmed him so much that he couldn't handle it anymore and had to step away. It happens. Sometimes despite our best intentions, life comes along to stick it in & break it off, or the person we are trying to help becomes too much for us to handle. I would personally cut Goobrain some slack here. He's not a superhero afterall.
