Vermis are a parasitic hivemind species. I will write some lore up for them sometimes.

Oooh, it's worm in latin. And i, as a fisherman, didn't know that xD
I was just curious because in that story, the Vermis are also a hivemind species. More 'optional symbiotic' rather than parasitic though.
Both concepts are beautifully horrifying.
If you ever write like a larger lore document about them and want to have it narrated, i could do that for you if you like, and if my quality is up to your standards. ^^

I have to look that story up sometimes, it sounds interesting! Optional symbiotic sounds like venom :>
And oh! wow, that's a cool offer! That would be so cool. (but I am not much of a writer tbh i can't pull anything coherent together it seems... but hey, if you have input - i'm happy to hear!)

Do that, the story is great ^^
(if you're into audiobooks, there's a guy on YouTube called NetNarrator who did the complete thing)
Without spoilering too much, the Vermis in "We need a Deathworlder" burrow into your brain and...rummage around. They can talk into your mind, look through your memories, or even conrol your body. Think Goa'Uld from Stargate.
They have the potential to be a REALLY big threat to the galaxy, but they help out the protagonist a great deal.
Yeah, i struggle with writing too xD
It's all about making notes, in a lore dump text file for example.
At one point and after a few iterations, things start to come together on their own ;)
For your Vermis, i could imagine a nature documentary style that has a twist of horror in it.
"Deep in the swamplands of planet xyz lurks a creature both remarkable and terrifying. This creature, though on it's lonesome, is never truly alone. ...)
