Since I was a kid, I have always enjoyed the futuristic view of the world which was dreamed up in the 30's through the 50's. In my little homage to the golden age of science fiction, a noble spaceman mongoose stands regally with his savage ferret companion, both ready for adventure.
The optimism and hope of a better future is an incredible thing, not to mention the proto-classic space uniforms sure rate high on the style-o-meter. And, yes, I had to give the spaceman a KRS-37 Deshan model pistol. Invented that thing back in high school and I still love it.
Hope you all enjoy the past visions of the future as much as I do, and I hope you like this piece. I know, a bit out of character for me to do futuristic stuff, but I do try and be versatile.
Big thanks to
solidasp for his pointers on this piece.

You never cease to amaze me with every piece you create. Character design, pose, visual angle, colours, the whole "feel" of the picture, dynamics, details... I'm rendered speechless nearly every time.
If you produced a graphic novel, I think it would erupt into a massive ball of Glory for the amount of awesome contained in the pages.
I hate being a drooling fanboy, but you make it difficult for me not to.

Very cool. Not only are the characters a nice throwback to character archetypes of the time, I also like how the mongoose's suit has a more modern-inspired spin to it. It certainly looks futuristic, but it also has an ancient feel as well, as though he got it from a colony of spacefaring ancient Babylonians. I love sci-fi settings that evoke the past intermingled with the future like that. Well done!
