Shun Yuan the Terrible...
Ajacopa has heard much about this...'terror' quite a few times since he traveled to the south. A notorious killer, someone you must truly fear when the Cardinals, a terrible group of bandits, made themselves known.
So when Ajacopa ran into a panda resting under a tree, matching this terror's description to a T, while strolling through the peaceful countryside of China, you'd expect the panther, a skilled warrior in the ways of Panther Style Kung Fu, to do the world a favor and dispatch him.
Just yesterday Ajacopa met with an old friend whom he had met during his two-year-search for his daughter, and from him he learned about the Cardinals, and their deadly weapon and slave, the Sight bearer Shun Yuan. So he likes to think he knows quite a bit about this 'monster' as everyone calls him.
A slave to the Cardinals, taken away from his family when he was barely nine years old. Forced and tortured to do their bidding and crimes. It was him who destroyed the Cardinals. For what reasons? Some say his inner rage and anger finally exploded. Others say they murdered the wrong person, and Shun Yuan finally snapped.
So rather than finish what has been started, Ajacopa merely strolled closer, leaned against the tree and attempted to strike up a conversation with the panda.
Ajacopa could relate to the panda's inner pain and sorrow. The panther was reminded of his agony he spent after the loss of his wife. Thoughts of suicide came to him quite frequently. And if it wasn't for Master Oogway and his caring nature, he wouldn't be here strolling through the fields of China with a brave and strong daughter and a whole new outlook on the country he moved to for a better life.
He doesn't see himself as a warrior, just a very-skilled and helpful civilian. He doesn't see it as his duty to pass judgment to someone like him. And after hearing and learning what this panda must've gone through yesterday, he feels more like it's better to help rather than hinder.
He understands how inner anguish and pain can change a man, but also how a compassionate and helping hand can help you back on your feet and back down through the right path.
"You're not really a bad guy, are you?" As Ajacopa kept going his attempts to have a conversation with the panda, he noticed the panda hasn't even make a sound during the whole thing. But hey, if he's still there and hasn't budged a muscle, he's at least listening right?
"I can relate to the pain." Copa resumed as he held his pan flute in his paws, recalling his pain when he lost his beloved wife. "But hey, keep your chin up. The path for redemption isn't always as hard as everyone seems to think so."
As expected the panda doesn't respond or move. The panther merely shook his head with a smile and looked down as his pan flute. "Say, you don't mind if I play some notes, do ya?"
Not expecting a word out of the panda Ajacopa closed his pan flute to his lips and blew softly, beginning to play a melody on his instrument. Letting the gentle sound of the flute to not only help the panther relax, but hopefully bring some relief and comfort to the panda's spirit.
While not within visibility of the panther, the panda slowly lifted his straw hat slightly as his ears catch the soothing melody of the pan flute. And a slight smile formed on his blank face..."

Agh! Finally! It's done!
This is my entry to Ironroad's Kung Fu Panther contest back on DeviantART.
Now, wow, this took me a long time to complete. With college being heavy these past two weeks and a test and homework due this weekend, I'm amazed I even managed to finish it in time before the contest ended.
So yes, the scene depicts Rainroad's character, Ajacopa, crossing paths with the Sight bearer, Shun Yuan. Rather than respond to his presence by the negative views and comments from many villagers he's met thorough his travels, he approaches with optimism from the other facts that he knows. The facts that he has been forced to commit his crimes, and believes that there is still some good in him if he hasn't returned to commit his crimes during the months after the Cardinals' demise.
At least, that's the way I see how Ajacopa would react and behave. I hope I haven't gotten out of character with him or anything.
I honestly didn't know what to do. A drawing or a story? In the end I chose to lean more on drawing while having a very short writing to go with the drawing.
Good God I hope that isn't cheating or anything.
I literally poured my heart and soul into this art. I honestly didn't want to leave it alone until it was perfect.
I mean, holy crap, man! A background I drew myself! Really!
The grass and leaves I made with the default brushes found in Photoshop CS.
The tree bark's texture and the clouds came from brushes I found and downloaded.
I'm very proud of this drawing. Who knew a contest would make me pour every single thing I learned in Photoshop so far into a drawing like this?
