Before any notion of separation was even debated, before the kitsune followed Euinixi, and before history was forever torn asunder, there was chaos. There was no order to the Realms of Imba, and savage foxes ran rampant. Those who desired harm sewing blood and misdeeds through the lands did so without hesitation or remorse.
Euinixi appeared as a second sun, commanding the attention of the entire forest and demanding obedience. Whoever so joined this beacon of light and power would follow him as worshipers to a god, and in return for joining him he would grant his followers magical abilities and language. He would not tolerate nonbelievers, lest they be relieved of his gift.
Seeing no other choice, they bowed before the divine being of light before them.
An era of peace and prosperity followed this declaration, until the greatest betrayal was set forth. Kitsune had found ways to harness the power of the earth around them, creating a different sort of magic, a dark magic.
Euinixi was enraged. He reminded the kitsune that this was not their home, but his that he allowed them to remain in.
The kitsune who had new ideas and resented living under the foot of a God, all agreed that it was time to part ways with the believers. For their insolence and mutiny, Euinixi took one of every betrayer’s tail as a permanent reminder to all kitsune what happened. With each and every kitsune losing a tail, they left.
With all tradition and homes and families left behind the kitsune decided to look forward, to set forth and embrace industry and the free will of foxes.
With the new Dynasty established there are now two factions, the Yoko Dynasty and the Followers of Euinixi. While they will be at odds for what seems like the rest of time, Euinixi will always be watching.
