Also, does he really? I don't think I conveyed the intended foreshortening on this very well, which is why I think he looks sorta blocky. I'm not very good with snakelike things and it's been a struggle to come up with poses that accentuate that aspect (this one doesn't very well, but I hope some of the others do).
But whatever, I'm still proud of it. :>
Tell me how you scan shit, though, because holy god. It didn't even take that long, but I don't want to go through that kind of frustration ever again. 3:

As well you should be!
Uh... actually I spent half an hour the other day (more like a week ago, with the last sketchytown batch) scanning in... ~14 pictures? It's really frustrating and tedious, and I kind of hate doing it. I guess I just grit my teeth, apply pressure to my sketchbook while it sits awkwardly as my scanner moves its slow-ass light and... scan shit.

The thing that was giving me trouble is that (especially on this image) whenever I adjusted the levels to make it visible I would get all this colorful noise around the lines that definitely shouldn't be there. It was all over the shaded area on his back leg for example -- I managed to fix most of it by adjusting the colors before I darkened the image, but if I were to go any darker it would show itself again. You can still sort of see it; it kind of looks like a pencil threw up all over the lines.
I scanned at 300dpi, which could be the problem. Next time I'll go a bit higher and see if it helps.

Oh
That could just be your scanner, although I'd hope not... hmm
I usually just take down the brightness, bump up the darkness a LOT and then the middle gets pushed up about halfway. Any other editing is done in Photoshop, mostly just levels but occasionally change in saturation and/or brightness/contrast.
Good luck though!
