So I was walking in the woods near the lake with my gang of biologists when I saw some jelly-like creatures. Although they were a bit taller than any of us (5 feet 7 inches is my height, for example!) they are completely harmless creatures ever (but there is an exception to every rule). We've been watching Glubgales for the last couple of years and now I should like to draw attention to the wealth of information that we already have available to us as a result of our work to date..
LORE
◆ Where's water, there're Glubgales. They can live right in the water (all aquatic subspecies) and can feel okay in another habitats with a water source nearby (lakes and pounds in the forests, underground rivers in the caves and springs in the mountains)
◆ They are group creatures, living in small tribes of 10 to 30 members. Lake and forest subspecies (or rainforests and tropical sea ones) are very friendly to each other (and to humans too!) so their tribes often comes together. Glubgales that live in caves and in the mountains are friendly to each other, but usually being agressive to Glubgales of another tribe. Arctic Glubgales are fierce ones.
◆ Most tribes have a chief who is the strongest and smartest one. Doesn`t matter what gender the chief is because they can change sex a couple of times in their life.
◆ Glubgales have several names including a name used when they were a child, and a name taken when they were older. They usually share naming traits, which are usually melodic and sometimes hard to pronounce (for example: Ceiran, Scesith, Tylississ...)
◆ Many were known to make prayers and offerings daily. They don`t have gods that look like them, but they prey to natural events and the most revered thing is rain.
◆ Their bodies are made of mezoglea. "The mesoglea is mostly water. Other than water, the mesoglea is composed of several substances including fibrous proteins, like collagen.." Also epithelial layers produce gel-like secretions including special kind of mucin. These secretions are needed to protect their skin from sunburn. Suddenly, we discover that our hands became extremely soft after touching them
SOME FEATURES AND FUN FACTS ABOUT THE VARIOUS SUBSPECIES
Lake & sea
◆ A lot of cases when a ship was in an emergency and could sink ended in a better way for people. That is why sailors thank the underwater Glubgales.
◆ They are the most joyous, creative, curious, and active glubgale subspecies.
◆ they`re just babies and I love them with my whole heart.
Forest
◆ All they eat is fruit and berries
◆ They have long fingers, REALLY long tail and strong legs to brachiate
◆ They love mining pigments that they use in symbolic activities such as tattooing or body painting. (but none of that lasts long on their jelly bodies)
Cave & mountain
◆ The only subspecies that are able to withstand high temperatures (in springs for example)
◆ Сave glubgales cannot detect objects more than a few meters away because echolocation has a limited range. (they use echolocation in dark caves, they are not blind)
◆ Their main occupation is mining gems for jewelry creation
Arctic
◆ The older they get, the bigger their bodies gets
◆ They are extremely powerful and dangerous but mature very slowly
◆ The only Glubgale subspecies that can eat meat and even each other
◆ Can make really loud and creepy noise
Hope you enjoy it!
