In the fictional world of the narrative I had been working on at the time I bought it, however, this image was drawn by a classmate of the model. It depicts a young Ruby Elizal, at age 14, posing for an art class. Though Ruby struggled in the creation of art, she was more than willing to participate in it, and had always enjoyed the pleasure of creation. Little did Ruby know how soon everything was going to change for her. With the commencement of a war that would take her family, her home, and some of her friends, Ruby's life was to be irreversibly flipped on its axis. Just after her 15th birthday, Ruby's love for the art of expression would be joined by a whole host of new interests, many of which flew in the face of everything the 14-year-old Ruby had valued. But while war itself may never change, those who do the fighting, are often forever changed.
