Here is Chapter 14 of Rocky's Tribe! As i have promised, i'll be able to finish part 3 and 4 of Rocky's Birthday and post it tomorrow (July 25th)
Rocky and his raccoon friends go out camping in the woods since they wanted to be together in the woods for the first time in 5 years since they went camping back in June of 2008.
Chapter 14 - Camping In The Woods
The Next Day…
“So this is our hut?” Christopher Asked.
“Yeah, Chief Elijah offered us a night of camping out in the woods in the hut right here.” Rocky said.
“That’s nice.” Miles said.
“Yep, let’s get our stuff inside the hut.” Rocky said.
As the three of them got inside the hut, they put their sleeping bags on the floor while they did the same thing for their toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.
“So… Where can we brush our teeth?” Miles asked.
“There’s a rest stop with a bathroom there.” Rocky said, pointing to it.
The rest stop was small, but it did have a medium-sized food court and other sections in which the whole place included an arcade and payphones. There were also bathrooms available as well.
“At least our hut has a door and screens so mosquitoes and bugs don’t get in.” Christopher said.
“Yeah, I agree with you. Wouldn’t want a mosquito to bite me in my arm.” Rocky said.
1 Hour Later…
While they were watching tv in the hut, their stomachs began to growl. This was a sign that they needed to eat.
“I’m hungry…” Miles said.
“Me too…” Christopher said, rubbing his stomach.
“Same for me, we should cook some food.” Rocky said.
“But, is it safe to do so here?” Christopher Asked.
“Of course, the fire danger level here is green which means that it’s safe.” Rocky said.
“Oh ok.” Christopher said.
“We could try cooking some boneless chicken, there’s a nearby grill.” Rocky said.
“Let’s do it!” Miles said.
Before they had gotten to cooking the chicken, they washed and cleaned the grates of the grill.
After it was cleaned, Rocky then started the grill. Since it was a propane grill, he didn’t have to put in charcoal or use lighter fluid. He got to putting the chicken in it which was seasoned with chicken seasoning and lemon juice.
20 Minutes Later…
Rocky had put the pieces of chicken, beans and rice onto each of the three disposable plates that were nearby and then went to a nearby picnic table with them so that he and his raccoon friends would eat dinner.
Miles and Christopher took a bite out of their chicken and smiled as they chewed. They loved the chicken because of Rocky’s great cooking skills which had made him an expert at cooking amazing food.
“Do you guys like it?” Rocky asked.
‘It’s amazing!” Miles said, giving Rocky a thumbs-up.
“This is the best chicken that I have ever had!” Christopher said after he swallowed it down.
“Thank you so much for liking it! I’m pleased!” Rocky said, smiling as he began eating his dinner.
4 Hours Later…
Since it was now nighttime, they decided to go to sleep so that they would have a great day in the morning. After they brushed their teeth in the rest stop bathroom, they went back to the hut to look at the stars.
“The stars look so beautiful!” Christopher said.
“Even the moon looks great with the stars!” Miles said, pointing to the moon.
“Those stars are amazing!” Rocky said as he pointed to a group of stars resembling Rocky, Miles and Christopher hugging each other.
“Awww, so cute! That’s us!” Miles said.
“Definitely the best view that I have ever seen!” Rocky said.
“Yeah, i agree with you.” Christopher said as he yawned.
Miles and Christopher went in the hut for them to go to sleep when they got in their sleeping bags. Rocky stayed outside the hut so that he could look at the stars a little bit for 20 Minutes before he got in the hut and closed the door.
Rocky got in his sleeping bag and put his cell phone to charge since Miles and Christopher have already put their phones to charge using portable cell phone chargers that they bought at the store the day before they went to Maimbreach Island.
“Good Night guys.” Rocky said.
“Good Night, Rocky.” Miles and Christopher said.
Rocky closed his eyes and got into a comfortable position as he slept. He definitely knew that the next day would be great.
