This specific pic, from idea conception, to sketch, to ink, to color took about five days at about 4 to 5 hours a day on average. The majority of this time frame was due to inexperience with photo-shop and of course the mandatory experimentation but it turned out quite well.

The image has had it's resolution cut in half for the web and has been cropped to add width and a sort of panoramic view.

I created this piece to further improve the design of the Female Kings and at the same time offer a window into their world with scenery for a change. Detailed Backgrounds are a rarity for me because I get easily frustrated with the details and usually avoid them all out, but this time I decided to challenge myself and gain some much needed experience.

Major Design Changes (Female King V3)

Two toned mane (may not be visible due to shadows & highlights)

Interchanged zig zag pattern on shoulders with two overlaying layers of rough fur that connects directly with the arm tufts down the length of the arm

Duller, more earth tone browns

a light tan almost cream highlights added to the toes fingers, inner thighs, belly, chin, and parts of the mane

more pronounced and stylized fur on the tail

better defined paw pads and claws

change in the coloration of upper and lower stockings/tufts

defined number of ear tufts (5)

I worked really hard on this and of course am duely proud but never the less I must strive to do better so Critique is strongly encouraged.

This piece is a couple months old by now but is, by far, one of my most ambitious digital pieces to date.

This is a race set in a fictional world under development called Kings.
I forbade myself from uploading previous incarnations of the race due to lack of quality but maybe I can submit them into a sketches category later.
