after reading through her ancestors book, Mia came across a mentioning of confederate ghosts during the Second American Civil War. Intrigued, she decided to look into this at her local library and found other tales of ghosts clad in grey being spotted during the war. One such tale is of at the Battle of Atlanta, where members of the New Confederate States of America Army made reports of figures clad in grey and khaki clothing were seen marching in the surrounding forest carrying with them an assortment of muskets and cannons in the direction of an advancing United States battle column that had stopped several miles outside the city. The night that followed was filled with the sounds of gunshots, tank fire, and the screams of dying men as a battle raged on. The following day the battle had been a swift victory for the NCSA as the US soldiers had become too unsettled to properly fight and ended up retreating. In the hours after the battle the NCSA decided to investigate what had happened the night prior at the US camp just outside the city, finding the bodies of dead soldiers (some of them missing entire limbs) and the burning husks of tanks littering the camp. While officially this was reported as a freak friendly fire accident by both sides, many soldiers began to believe that the ghosts of their ancestors had helped them survive what would have been one of the bloodiest days in the war after finding a musket-ball shot lodged in a tree right next to a US soldier who had a massive gaping hole in his chest
