When Syvass was born into the tribe, his black markings were seen as bad luck. It was seen as a sign his parents had done something awful in their lives, and the god as such punished them for it. To make things worse, the part that covered the cubs right eye caused it to become red. Even as a young cub he was not spared from being shunned and outcasted. If he wasn't ignored, they would call him cruel names such as "the devils spawn", and the "bad luck cub". It seemed no matter what he did, the tribe never saw the good syvass could do. Like learning how to track and hunt on his own, or taking down large game.
