Finally managed to finish up my concept art of Maverick into a finished piece! :D Yes, he has had a few updates since my initial sketch, most notably the change from the standard Xenomorph's dome-like head to having more of a queen's carapace since Maverick is, actually, a queen -- albeit a male type that can "breed" a new generation without the need for eggs (he has no intentions of doing so, but he knows that he can). Maverick is the unfortunate result of a sadly successful experiment to hybridize a sentient being -- in this case a dakotaraptor -- with a Xenomorph in an effort to create the perfect weapon: a Xenomorph that can be reasoned with and "controlled." Although he retains his intelligence in his new form, Maverick also retains his heart and compassion for others and refuses to be controlled by the military despite their best efforts.
