Despite having recently come back from one of the most mentally screwed up jobs he had been given as a maid, and currently still dripping wet from his shower back at work, Robin's mind was completely focused on the short message that had been left on his phone.
It was from Kevin, an Alpaca Llama that was soon going to become married to Edward, a Zebra who also happen to be the brother to Sarah, his co-worker at job.
The message didn't say him much, besides some kind of "incident" had happen, and that he needed for Robin to respond as quickly as possible.
So despite still being naked and wet Robin sat down to type in "What has happen?", and shortly after it was being sent did he receive another one that said, "Meet me at Willard's Coffee Shop, and I will tell you more there."
Knowing that it was something serious that Kevin wanted to talk with him about Robin typed back "I can be there in 30 minutes!", before then starting to getting himself dried up and dressed to see his friend in need.
Arriving to the local coffee shop Robin quickly spotted Kevin sitting alone by a table, as he hurried to sit down and join his pal.
"I'm here now Kevin, so what has happen?" Robin asked as Kevin was seen looking pretty worried, as he started by saying "It's about...the wedding."
"Don't tell me it has been cancelled?!" Robin asked in horror as Kevin told him, "No, it's hasn't. But it might be if we can't fix this."
"What has happen then?" Robin asked as Kevin took a deep breath before saying, "One of my groomsmen Durham, has just been a terrifying motorcycle accident, and he is currently laying on the hospital and is in a coma."
Robin covered his mouth in shock over the horrifying news, as he said "Oh my god! I'm so sorry to hear that!"
"What's worse is that the wedding is scheduled for this Saturday, and I need to find a replacement for Durham very quickly!" Kevin explained, as Robin asked him "But isn't there usually 6 of them or something on a wedding, so wont the other 5 be enough?"
"Yes, but my parents are very by the book about how weddings goes, so I need to find someone to replace Durham quickly." Kevin answered, before then taking Robin's hand and asking him "Robin, would you do me the honour of being my replacement groomsman?"
Feeling almost like he was getting proposed Robin started to get a little teary-eyed, as he said "Yes! Yes, I would feel so honoured to be part of yours and Eddie's wedding!"
A bit of a smile could be seen forming on Kevin's face, before it then vanished just as quickly as he said "There is one more thing, however."
"And what is that?" Robin asked, as he really hoped it wasn't another vehicle accident involved.
"You also need to get my parents blessings on becoming my replacement groomsman, and therefore we need to see them right after we are finished here." Kevin explained, making Robin a little bit confused as he said "But that shouldn't be to hard to do, right?"
This lead to Kevin letting out a small laughter (One that had a clear sign on nervousness to it.), as he said "We will see once we get there."
Driving over to where Kevin's parents lived Robin could sense a great level of stress and dread hanging over the Alpaca that he hasn't seen before on him, not even during some of the harder moments with Sarah.
Trying to break the tension a little bit Robin asked Kevin, "Are you sure that the wedding wouldn't work if they don't approve of me as your new groomsman?", to which the soon the be groom let out a deep sigh and tried to best figure out how to explain it to his friend.
"My father is standing for most of the costs to hold it, which means he also has the power to just cancel the whole thing if it's not of his exact liking!" Kevin said, making Robin understand a lot more on why he was acting so carefully around it all.
"But are you really sure they wouldn't like to have someone like me at the wedding?" Robin then asked, as Kevin in return took a good look at him and said "I better hope they do."
As they started to drive up towards the home of Kevin's parents Robin still didn't get what it was Kevin was so worried about, but he did also hope that things would work out between them all.
Exiting the car it almost felt like they were about to enter a crime scene, as both of them seemed to dread what was about to be found on the other side of that door.
Ringing the doorbell the two of them just waited as the lock to the door was getting unlocked, the door slowly opening up, and...
"Oh, my sweet Kevin! How lovely to see you again!"
The most adorable looking Alpaca lady that Robin had ever seen, as he quickly took it for being Kevin's mother.
"Oh my! And what a cute looking lady you brought with you here!" She said as she looked over at Robin, who before either he or Kevin could correct her was being asked to come inside and join Kevin's father in the living room.
Entering inside Robin didn't get what was so bad about it, since he had been feeling very welcomed so far by Kevin's mom.
That all changed however when they came into the living room and met Kevin's dad, who started to judge both of them as soon as they set their feet inside!
He was also an Alpaca, and unlike with Kevin's mom he seemed a lot more suspicious about this Deer lady that his son had brought home with him.
"Mom, Dad, this is Robin. Robin, this is my mother Nami, and my father Rolf." Kevin said as he introduced him to the two, with Nami saying "Robin. What a lovely name for such a sweet looking lady.", and then Rolf asking "Didn't you say that you had got someone to replace as your groomsman, after that reckless fool nearly got himself killed?"
"Why yes, and I thought Robin would fit in very well." Kevin said, as both of his parents looked at each other in slightly confusion.
"Not to try and correct you or anything, my son, but you are aware that is a lady you got there?" Nami asked, as Rolf added "Exactly! A groomsman needs to be a man. That is why it's even called that!"
"I know, and while I know this will be a bit hard for you to understand Robin here is actually...a guy." Kevin said with some slight hesitation, making Robin even wonder if he was ashamed of telling his parents this?
It did seem to be a bit of the case as Nami could be said needing to take a seat, while Rolf just muttered "I knew it!" to himself.
"I anything wrong? Why are they judging me so hard?" Robin asked Kevin, who once again seemed to have a really hard time to find the words as he finally said, "Both of my parents have a very strict Christian uprising, so I knew introducing you while looking like...this, was going to be pretty challenging."
That's when it finally dawned upon him on just how he must look like in their eyes, as he was currently dressed in a glittery tank top, and knee high skirt!
It had been how he would normally dress himself every day, so it never quite occurred to him on how some folks with more "traditional views" might see him.
"So you're telling me that this is actually a...boy you got here?" Nami asked while still a bit confused, as a pretty awkward feeling Robin had to respond with a "Yeah...that is true."
"Was it really to much for you to find one that doesn't wear a dress?" Rolf asked, with Kevin trying to tell him "Dad! You have to understand my options are very limited with how little time it is!", but the old Alpaca man wasn't having any of it!
"I have already been forced to accept a whole lot of stuff from you up to this point!" The old man yelled before then going on. "Already when you told both me and Nami that you were actually gay, I knew this went against everything I have been growing up learning! Even so I was prepared to actually assist in your wedding later on, despite the fact that you decided to make it with someone of a completely different species."
"Actually, Zebras and Llamas are both of the Equestrian family, so we are not THAT different..." Kevin tried to explain himself, as Rolf yet again yelled "SILENCE!!!"
"I am accepting a whole lot of things that many of my friends would never even imagine doing, cause despite it all I am doing it for the sake of letting my son feel true love. But despite all that the least I ask for is that this Deer friend of your is dressed in a suit during the ceremony, like a proper man should!" Rolf barked on, and while Nami was just sitting there silent she did give small nods to show that she was completely onboard with what her husband was saying.
Robin was actually a bit surprised to hear that despite so many things about this wedding not being part of what Kevin's parents would consider "normal" they were still willing to help him make it happen, and if all it took was for Robin that for one day wear a suit then that seemed like a pretty reasonable request.
"If that is all that you wish for me to do, then I would gladly show up in a suit to help make Kevin's wedding as perfect as possible." Robin said with great support, only to them hear both Rolf and Nami say back "Oh no! That's not the only thing we would ask from you!"
"Excuse me?" Robin asked confused as Nami said, "You can not show up with hair like that! You need to get it cut, as no normal guy is seen with hair that long. Plus, I'm sure you coloured it pink at some point, so if you could change it into some much more decent colour then that would be lovely."
And then it was Rolf 's turn as he added in, "And you are a Deer, aren't' you? Then where the heck are your horns?!", with Robin having to explain how he keeps filing them down so that he can hide them underneath his hair band.
"Then you better let those things grow until the wedding day, cause it's better you show up with some small bits then nothing at all!" Rolf demanded, and despite how his pink hair and being hornless was big traits in his who he was Robin clenched his fists, looked down onto the floor, and said "Fine. I'll do it."
Kevin looked almost heartbroken over hearing what his friend had agreed on, but his parents seemed a lot more pleased as they said they would be more then happy to see him at the ceremony if he kept up on their promise.
Leaving their home it was a much more broken down Robin who was being driven home, as it just occurred to him that in trying to keep his promise would mean something else might have to suffer cause of it!
His job!
The one reason as to why he was even allowed to work as a maid in the first plac was due to him looking exactly like a Doe, and if he was to actually let his horns grow during the week then that would make it pretty clear to anyone he would come over to clean for that he was in fact a guy in a dress!
He didn't want to let Kevin's wedding to get cancelled, but this could have the very real consequence that he might loose his job if he goes through with it!
So once he was home Robin spent the whole evening on trying to figure out what was the actual right thing to do, as he was literally force to pick between "love" or "career".
Finally he made the very though decision of supporting Kevin's wedding above all else, as he knew he still had time to try and make it work at his job also if he just explained things well.
After having made his choice Robin started to make a series of text messages towards both his boss Shelly, and his two closest co-workers Honey and Lemon, and telling them all Kevin's situation, and on what he had just decided to agree on.
In the past he had actually been revealing his true identity to some place he's been to, so hopefully if Shelly could find some other places with folks that are "quickly understanding" as to why a clearly male Deer shows up at their place dressed as a maid, then perhaps there could be a chance of him making it through this whole week without any problems.

When Kevin asks Robin for his help with a thing regarding his upcoming wedding, the Deer boy finds himself having to agree on some pretty heavy tasks in order to really help his friend out.
