With Robin's tech so advanced, its very easy for it to be seen as pure magic on certain planets and civilizations. This is the case for Marlin, and her shrinking wrench is like no other 'magic' he's seen before! While his studies are not focused on magic, he still knew many students back in the academy that would love to examine it, if Robin hadn't refused and asked that it be kept between them.

For Shay, this is par for the course by now, but still can be shocking when Robin sneaks up to shrink her unawares. And even more so, when she's displayed to Marlin as a demonstration. His already much larger eyes, in comparison, made even more huge by his thick glasses.
