"You look at this throne, and you see a monument to all the power and influence you've built on the backs of the people you mistreated. This gilded trim and gaudy cup. I look at this and see naught but an expensive chair that anyone is free to use as they see fit: like so."
While on his travels, our favorite wolf mind mage came across a town rife with corruption and abuse, going all the way to their top elected officials. Someone of Enigma's character isn't one to simply let the status quo stand if common folk are suffering at the behest of those in power, and so he naturally took it upon himself to dethrone these corrupt officials and pass power over to the people.
It took some doing, but before long those top officials were exposed for their crimes and led out in chains. Obviously, a wandering mage isn't fit to take over, but the rogue psionicist seems confident that the one who does will be much more amendable to the will of the populace.
How did he manage such a feat? Well, a good magician never reveals his secrets. As for the throne, Enigma can be petty when it comes to those who abuse others with their authority, so you'll have to forgive him for his sitting stunt. The chair wasn't that comfortable anyway.

Thanks to
BigGoodWolf for another amazing YCH, and for taking such care with my characters. I wanted to capture another side of Enigma, his trickster aspects. Make no mistake, he always aims to do the right thing, but he's fully willing to use underhand tricks and tactics in order to do so.
Playing politics with a mind mage probably isn't the healthiest way to spend your time. They always have the upper hand in negotiations.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say he used his mind magic to dethrone these corrupt politicians, be it through one way or another, before handing control of the town back to its people
Isn't that exactly what Volpes was trying to do with Oplentia? Tear down the corrupt ruling class and return the power to the people where it belongs? It seems rather hypocritical of Enigma to be going after him the way he did knowing this, seeing as both have or had such distasteful methods of going about doing so

I wrote a bit about it on my lore sight if you're curious: https://the-enigma-files.com/kingma.....r-kingbreaker/
