Territorial Dragon ~
It is Spring and the blue dragon has risen early to go to the river and catch some salmon while it is still their mating season.
His partner is not far away, he is catching his own fish on a different bank of the river. It is a season of rejoice as salmon are in great abundance and the pair of blue dragons take advantage of that feast to eat well and gain weight for next winter.
After hunting his second salmon, Breise looks up and sees a pair of cougars on the opposite shore. They try to avoid the gaze of the dragon by going through the dense vegetation. But the blue dragon manages to perceive them despite their attempts to camouflage. At that moment, Breise gives them an intense look with his golden eyes. He is not going to attack or chase them, but it is a sure threat and reminder that he is the king and his partner is the emperor of those territories.
Everyone should better remember their place in the hierarchy of the cold forest.
The cougars ran, confused by the fact that their stealth and cunning have not worked with the dragon, which always worked with any other animal.
Some hunters, from a different hierarchy than dragons or cougars, say that dragons like Breise possess an ability that no other predator has: the ability to communicate and understand certain species with which they choose to cooperate. In this case Breise has chosen the swallow, a graceful migratory bird that always returns during the spring to make its nests in cavities and shelters.
They are also vigilant and very agile birds.
Apparently, the birds have chosen to cooperate with the dragon, they serve as eyes and ears throughout the whole of his territory and the dragon offers them protection and a safe home in his cave. After all, having the favor of a dragon is like having the protection of a god, there is practically no higher place in the territorial hierarchy. So, the swallows fly safe and happily around the dragon while they serve as spies and informants for the couple.
Or maybe those are just tales, but it has always been suspicious that where there are swallows the feeling of dominance of the dragon looms.
It is fascinating to think that this little dragon: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/36111982/ transformed into this. His eyes shine with the intensity of the dragon, his feathers are abundant and beautiful. In general, he is a splendid male that casts respect or fear, depending on who you are in the food chain.

trust me, this series is far from that. each book follows a different dragon from the same clutch after their den is raided by dragon hunters. Only 3 hatchlings escape out of 4 (the one who didn't escape left me in tears) and they all get separated. there's even a great deal of in-universe lore. Magic is an extremely rare skill that barely anyone has, there's in-universe languages (an example is called Parl), male dragons change names after their first flight (Aurek would become AuReck with different pronunciation of Oh-Reck), and dragons are capable of telepathy, such as mothers "sending" hatchlings pleasant dreams with their minds.
book 1, Dragon Champion, follows Auron, later AuRon after his first flight, a gray scaleless dragon
book 2, Dragon Avenger, follows Wistala, the only surviving female
Book 3, Dragon Outcast, follows the clutch outcast known as "the copper" because he was abandoned after falling from the nest during the hatchling fight for dominance.
I haven't gone through the rest because i can't find the books anywhere lately

Seems good, probably I will give those books a try in the future.
Reminds me of the story of the protagonist dragon in the game "Golden Treasure: The Great Green game" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8hKfci3yLE
You may be interested, it's a very nice story and full of freedom. It's a graphic novel, so it's like playing a book ehehe.

I have always liked to draw my dragon with a pretty but also dangerous beauty. After all, this is how the dragon is represented in mythology.
Also, something that is only beautiful doesn't instill respect ehehe.
And yes! my feral dragons look furious but they are not always violent creatures. After all, predators don't always need violence to establish dominance. You only need a display of strength to demonstrate who is the king.
Thanks a lot~

I use adobe Photoshop, CC 2017 version to be precise. Even if it's incredibly heavy I would say that photoshop is the only software that a serious artist should use.
Because it's almost always stable and reliable, it's also a heavy duty software capable of huge files and great quality. The only problem is that it consumes a lot of resources, especially RAM, but it's professional software after all.
Also many thanks!
