2018 art, in which I decided to resurrect a character that was one of my favorites to draw for a while, before I just sorta stopped drawing her...
Meet Ms. Honey Mueller, kindergarten teacher.
And yes, I did name a mule, "Mueller". It's not the worst "ironic" name I've ever given a character...
Originally, she had a bit of popularity, and her original characterization had her as a farmer's daughter who spent most of her time working on the farm, when she wasn't studying veterinary science as a possible career. However, I decided that with the number of young child characters I have, little babies only a few short years away from entering kindergarten, it might be time to get some teachers in my cast instead, and what better animal for the job than one that is stereotyped as ignorant and stubborn? Gotta love subverting those cliches...
For a while I recall not liking this drawing very much, but upon deciding what to cross-post, I realized her awkwardness here (both in behavior, and in how the anatomy just seems at tad "off" in places and her eyes are clearly crossed) gives her a bit of charm, and shows that despite being a teacher now, she's still that young country girl from all those years ago at heart.
