Children of Maeria Story: Caiden's Tale Part 1 Cover
I made this the thumbnail for my "Children of Maeria Story: Caiden's Tail Part 1", but it was too small. Now you get to see the cover in all it's glory.
"I wanted to draw a prequel scene of sorts. What's going on here doesn't actually take place in the book. basically, Caiden starts off on the bad side of Sergeant Bart (the pig boy to the right). Unfortunately, the sergeant has a bit of a sadistic streak and had assigned Caiden's best friend, Grayson, to be his "babysitter." Unfortunately, the two were late for morning formation, so the good Sergeant Bart decided to subject them to the classic punishment of "diaper drilling." Basically they get to drill until the sergeant is satisfied, all while missing the bottom half of their uniform. Bart suggests, that if Caiden and Grayson had less of a uniform to put on, maybe they could actually make it to morning formation on time.
Naturally, if the two privates give the sergeant any lip about the next two hours of drilling, they'll have committed a "spanking offense." That's a punishment that Sergeant Bart is only too happy to administer. Luckily, Caiden and Grayson managed to avoid that punishment today.
Visual Description: There are three characters pictured here. Caiden and Grayson are in light infantry uniforms and are at attention with shouldered arms. Caiden is a grey furred wolf pup. He has white glove marked fur and white "socks." He has an uncomfortable and frustrated expression on his face and is trying to not make eye contact with Sergeant bart in front of him, trying to keep his gaze on a spot just above the horizon. From the waist down, Caiden is clad in only his plain white Cub Guard disposable diaper.
Grayson is a sand colored, brown spotted lynx boy. His cheeks are puffed out in a pouty expression and he is glaring sideyed at his friend standing next to him. He is in the same pose as Caiden. He has the full top half of his light infantry uniform and just a disposable diaper covering his bottom.
Both boys are blushing in embarrassment, no doubt being observed by more than just the sergeant.
Sergeant Bart has a mean grin on his face and is looking at Caiden. He is in a relaxed pose with his hands behind his back holding a wooden, six-holed paddle. He is wearing the entire uniform of his light infantry training regiment. He has some diaper bulge under his trousers as most Maerians are not potty trained and the Sergeant is no exception. The sergeant is wearing a curved sword at his side. His three sergeant's stripes are visible.
The Light Infantry Uniform: The Guard's uniforms vary by region. The "default" uniform is the one pictured in my comic, the pink-faced blue uniforms with tan trousers. Since Caiden was from a light regiment initially, I decided to design a different outfit for him and his comrades. The shako is primarily black. It is topped by a white tuft of fur. There is a white rimmed blue cockade directly in the center of the top rim of the hat. There is a bronze scaled arch extending out from the cockade and down either side of the regimental plate. The regimental plate is similar to the sunnyside fusilier plate, with a sunburst rising up from the horizon and a paw print stamped where the sun is coming up. A black leather strap keeps the shako on the head of it's wearer. Unlike the Sunnyside Fusiliers, there is no cords or braid wrapped around the shako.
The jacket is dark blue with light blue facings. Small brass buttons connect the coat down the center. Larger, ornamental buttons border the spot where the light blue facings end and the dark blue part of the coat begins. Caiden and Grayson are wearing two white cross belts formed in the stereotypical X pattern, one for the fuse (cartridge) box and the other for the bayonet (not pictured). Their shoulders are capped by white, fluffy, winged epaulets. Basically, it's a furry U of fluff travelling around the arm. There are a number of white cords moving from the fluff to the part where the sleeve joins with the rest of the coat.
The trousers are a charcoal black. The sergeant is happily not drilling in his underwear today, unlike the unfortunate wolf and lynx boys. This regiment typically wears black boots with white coverings over them for footwear."
