(I know late comment is late, but it's relevent, I promise. ^^;)
These are really coming out well. If you'd like I actually attended a webinar on animation last week and the hosts recorded it and put it online for the public. I can post a link to it if you'd like. I thought it was a great presentation and pointed out a lot of things I'd never have thought of.
For example, in relation to this piece, it's very unnatural for a living thing to be perfectly still, so even when a character (or part of them) isn't moving you should animate them a little so they look alive, and not so stiff. In this I noticed it in the shoulder and the perfectly still book cover. A slow, slight raise and lower would give that breathing effect.
I made the same mistake in an animation I did recently as well....partly out of laziness as well as just not knowing. ^^;
The link to the webinar just in case you want it.

Thank you for your comment! Yes, I am aware of this- It's nice to be reminded of it, but I was mostly focusing on the motion of the book and the head/neck, as I'm sure you can see. ^^ The webinar seems quite helpful- I'll check it out soon. Thank you for considering my progress and offering your help, and I'm glad you like these little scribbles!
