I downloaded some new brushes. there's a ton of cool stuff here! unfortunately i have no idea how to use most of it, which brings us to this image. i decided to try some out, and you can tell the water looks pretty decent. probably. the sky looks too flat, and i'm not exactly sure how to fix it yet. the shading on the character is poor. the fur didn't look right, and lost a lot of texture through the shading.. maybe next time i should shade with the same texture brush i decide to use.. huh..

also, there seems to be some clashing with how realistic the texture looks and how cartoony the character looks. i'll take this as a lesson to try to be consistent with style. i might actually forgo most of the brushes and try to make derivatives that have a bit more anime-esque style to them. anyways into the record this one goes.
