My parents have a place in Eldorado (an unincorporated quasi-suburb of Santa Fe, for those unfamiliar) and I'm occasionally called on to housesit for them when they go on vacations and such. Because the area is absolutely gorgeous, I always love doing it, and be sure to get photos whenever I can. It's always striking to see the difference in reaction between me and anyone else when looking at them--there's a very striking and distinctive visual style to the area that I'm just so used to by now that I hardly consider the possibility that it could be anything else anymore. Others are blown away by how much it looks like my parents live in a Wile E. Coyote cartoon, but this just looks normal to me.
Here is a picture of their street. Eldorado being as scenic and low-population as it is, even their actual street has this sort of simultaneous dual feeling of desolation and peaceful serenity to it.
